Every single one of our guests LOVED the food and drinks!!! Our servers were so kind and communicative and let us celebrate our special day in every possible way. They had surround sound system for us to play our dinner playlist in the background, I was able to connect my laptop and share a slideshow on both TV screens, and my two friends were able to fully decorate the long table perfectly! We brought our own fruit tart, but the dessert from our “Le Petit” Prix-Fixe Menu was delicious.
My family, friends, and I will be returning to eat more of their delicious meals and enjoy the company of this restaurant’s team.
This was our menu:
Appetizer: (Appetizers are served Family-Style)
• Auction Fresh Ahi Poke (Shoyu)
• Black Tiger Shrimp, Cocktail Sauce
Salad:(Complimentary Bread Service)
• Local Harvest Salad, Chef’s Selection
Entrée Selections
• 6 oz Petit Filet, Aligot Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetable, Café de Paris Butter
• Seared Ahi, Bacon Brussels, Crispy Potato, Roasted Garlic Vinaigrette, Red Wine Gastrique
* Salmon dish (yummy too!)
Dessert:
• Basque Cheesecake, Coulis, Caramel, Macerated Berries
The entrees came on a timely manner, wait staff was mindful not to interrupt conversation but quickly jumped in between to make sure we were taken care of.
As for dinner, the Spanish octopus was delicious but a little tough, it could have been cooked longer. Other wise very good.
The salmon special was tasty but a little over cooked.
The , 6oz fillet mignon was not medium rare as I ordered but the mushroom were great. The sauce could have been a little lighter. Otherwise beautiful presentation of the dishes.
Our seating arrangement was beautiful looking over the fishing boats, perfect place for a romantic evening with someone special.
The venue itself is fantastic, and the location is great, but the ambiance falls flat. The music feels outdated—like the ’90s called and want their playlist back. A more upbeat and modern selection could do wonders in making the environment livelier. Additionally, the place had more staff than customers, which made it feel a bit off. With some improvements to the atmosphere and energy, this spot could be a real gem.
The chef, Nathaniel, came out several times to speak with us and give us some extra food items including an oyster with beef tartare served on the half shell with the oyster being tempura fried. He also provided us later with a scallop over a cauliflower puree and a cilantro salsa. He did a much better job explaining the ingredients than I’m doing right now, but suffice it to say that both dishes were excellent flavorful dishes.
My spouse ordered the bone in pork chop with herbed goat cheese. The dish was very savory. You can’t go wrong with the pork chop.
I had the crusted ahi tuna. It was not as savory, but was definitely a more complex dish. It was also excellent.
We also had the French onion soup. I’m not sure how they kept some of the bread crispy even in the soup, but it was very good.
The bartenders and other servers helped to keep our drinks filled. Loaf, (hope I’m spelling that right) our server, was a pleasure to speak with and very knowledgeable of the menu. We were very impressed with the service, atmosphere, and food. If you’re looking for a finer dining experience in Oahu, check out the Upstairs at Pier 38.
My family ordered the Spanish Octopus and French Onion soup to start and they were delicious! The octopus was tender, a little spicy and had a beautiful chimchurri on top providing exquisite flavor and tang. The French onion soup was boiling hot, cheesy and flavorful.
For the main course, I ordered the seared ahi and my son ordered the kids Mac and cheese. The seared ahi had the perfect sear with it being rare on the inside, the perfect texture for it. The accompanying brussel sprouts and potato’s were deliciously seasoned and I couldn’t get enough of it! Even the kids Mac and cheese was heavenly. The French fries were perfectly crisp and the Mac and cheese was cheesy and delicious!
I was able to try my mom’s misoyaki sea bass and that was deliciously tender and the misoyaki sauce was mild yet potent in flavor. Everyone else loved their dishes as well as all the plates were practically licked clean.
At the end, they brought out the cake we brought, and they were able to store for us, and we were able to sing happy birthday to grandma and they offered to cut and serve the cake for us as well. Even taking a group picture for our family.
Overall a truly memorable and wonderful experience for us and my grandma enjoyed her birthday. Thank you everyone!
