I am so disappointed because this place USED to be great. It has so much potential.
We came for lunch, not a lot of people were here today, maybe 6 tables between two servers.
But the for meat and potatoes of the review. We got the Brussels sprouts appetizer with chili sauce, which was pretty good. I just don’t know why they put peanuts and wonton strips in it. Because it makes no sense. The peanuts were just raw and dumped in. The wontons are crispy until they get soggy, and then explode, when you try to stab them with a fork. Was a poor attempt at a ethnic fusion app.
The steak came out and it was Gray and well done. It wasn’t cut all the way through and nobody brought us a steak knife. The meat tasted off and somewhat spoiled. And we had to send it back. We got a burger instead, and they insisted that it was going to be juicy, spoiler alert, it wasn’t. It was as dry as a New England biscuit.
I ordered the Reuben, which is supposed to have thinly shaved pieces of corned beef. I got one thick slice of corned beef that was overcooked and fatty.
Plus side, fries were on point. I would have rather eaten a whole plate of fries.
Manager admitted they were struggling in the kitchen to get things together and hoped we would come back in a “few weeks” when complications were worked out…..
Server was nice.
They did comp the meal for us so ill give them that. I sincerely hope they can get it together so I can change this review.

3/1/2026 Visit. Not super busy. Two of us ordered the 3 egg breakfast – one order was over easy and one order over medium. The 3rd person ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. The food was cold, the fries and potato cubes (with the breakfast) was cold and old. One of my three eggs had the yolk broken. The other breakfast order had a puddle of whites. Raw eggs. If the chef did not have the wherewithall to make sure the food was at least as ordered, the waiter should have sent it back to be cooked properly. Our waiter was never readily available and did not check back if we needed anything. I asked for jelly and butter for my toast. 15 minutes later he brought 2 grape jelly packets and butter and disappeared very fast. What if I wanted strawberry jelly? He had to be tracked down for us to get a refill on coffee. My coffee had got cold, so I asked for a new cup to have the hot coffee in. He looked at me as if I was an alien. We had to wait for him to show up again in order to ask for our checks. Then he asked if we would come back next Sunday. And he repeated his question. Not on your life. This is the second catastrophic visit, and I was reluctant to come back. Uplands used to be very good, but now the service is terrible and the food is awful. Do not waste your money at Uplands.

Maybe the best physical location of a restaurant I have been to with crazy scenic views of the river and a great atmosphere. “Scratch cookin’” too. Alexis my server was excellent at product knowledge and the burgers – fantastic. The Mac and cheese even better!

My friend and I stopped by Upland Jefferson Brewery & Restaurant looking for a relaxed night out. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing and settled at the bar, opting for two quick beers each, which were excellent. We didn’t want to keep the staff late, but things quickly got interesting.
About ten minutes after we sat down, a couple came in and asked to sit outside. The server seated them and came back in, asking the bartender how to turn on the heater. Then, he informed her that four more people were on their way. True to their word, the friends arrived about five minutes later. The group proceeded to place a huge order: one shot of tequila, five margaritas, four main courses, and two appetizers.
My friend and I could clearly see the stress this caused, but the bartender and server just rolled with it. Then, ten minutes later, the group came back inside to say the margaritas didn’t taste good and they wanted to cancel their entire food order. Most people would have had a visibly stressed or negative reaction, but these two staff members were cool as a cucumber—true rockstars. To top it all off, the group left without paying for a single item.
We paid our tab and tipped both the server and bartender generously. I was so impressed with their composure that I even gave the bartender a Mega Millions ticket I’d just bought as a congratulatory gesture for their incredible service.
Please don’t be that type of customer. It is incredibly inconsiderate, and no one appreciates that kind of behavior. The staff at Upland Jefferson, however, handled a terrible situation with absolute grace. They deserve your business and respect.

WE RENTED THE BANQUET ROOM OVERLOOKING THE OHIO RIVER for our son and his Fiancé‘s rehearsal dinner.JILLIAN, THE EVENT COORDINATOR WAS EXTRAORDINARY, She was ALWAYS QUICK TO RESPOND TO EVERY EMAIL AND EVERY QUESTION ANSWERED with EVERY NEED I request She made happen. I CAN’T SAY ENOUGH HOW SPECIAL THE EVENT WAS CELEBRATING OUR SON AND HIS FIANCÉ FOR THEIR WEDDING. Thank you, Upland brewing company for a fabulous meal service and experience. Had a rocky start to my experience at Upland – we waited for several minutes by the “wait here to be seated” sign and no one acknowledged us despite there being several employees standing around. After a while and making eye contact with a number of the employees, they finally came over and seated us. We also made reservations and I’m pretty sure they marked off someone else’s reservation because it was under a completely different last name. The host didn’t seem to care though. However, from that point on everything was fantastic. They have a large tap list with options for every taste and all of the beers we tried were top notch. Our server, Shawn, was super cool and did a great job taking care of us! I had the tenderloin sandwich which was thick and juicy – would definitely recommend. And be sure to try the blue cheese coleslaw if you like blue cheese.

Amazing atmosphere, robust menu, and any place that has a Pizza called The Ron Swanson wins. The hostest Kamdyn greeted us with a smile and was very accommodating in helping us with a table easily accessible for a member of our party on crutches. Our server had great suggestions for both their tap menu and food.

Our group of 10 needed a restaurant that offered a wide range of dietary restricted food and Upland Brewing definitely lived up to the challenge. There are so many options including vegan. Tons of indoor and outdoor dining. Our group was seated quickly. Staff was kind and friendly. The food was delicious. We had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (regular and vegan), a pulled pork sandwich, a cuban and the Thai salad.
Bathrooms were clean but needed to be restocked.
Love the fact that this restaurant is right on the Ohio River. You can sit on patio and enjoy!

Nice spot right on the river! Large dining room and bar area inside. Visited in winter so the outdoor bar and patio wasn’t open, but walking around it looked like the summer would provide an amazing view and dining experience. Beer is good, food is well prepared and came out pretty quickly. Pricing is surprisingly friendly! Great little spot!

My wife and I were looking for a good place for fireworks on Independence Day and considered many. As “tourists” here in the Louisville area we were challenged to find a really good place… We found it ! … at Upland, Jeffersonville ! We found a great place, great food, great house-brew beers, great people, live music, and about ten different fireworks shows in clear view all up and down the river. Absolutely Fantastic !!
Menus with many choices are not only overwhelming but are often an indicator that a restaurant is trying too hard to “be all things for all people”, isn’t focused on what they do best, and probably don’t do much well. Upland has a minimal menu, easy and comfortable to read, and backs it up with excellent food prepared and served by folks who know what they’re good at. We spoke with several people, many of them regulars, and were told repeatedly that you can’t go wrong with any selection from the menu. We got the chicken sandwich and the fish & chips and shared. Both were outstanding!!
Very friendly people enjoying the holiday, the food and drink, each other, the live band… Wow ! The interior of the restaurant is very attractive, open and uncluttered, appropriately decorated and lighted… but the atmosphere that night was outside on the several multi-level decks, in the river breeze and with the evening view of Louisville, the river, and all of the fireworks.
We were very fortunate and blessed to have found this place and would absolutely recommend it to others.
The band, “Gunt”, plays on the main deck each Thursday evening. A spirited and audience-conscious instrumental band consisting of guitar, keyboard, drums, and sax plays in a very enjoyable jam-style rather than endless repeats of cover tunes we’ve all heard way too many times. With a very pleasant, enjoyable, and obviously cohesive vibe, they helped us all have a great time.
