It wasn’t too busy during my visit, but it was early. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. I had the steak pasty combo which came with gravy and a drink. The pasty tasted great and was delicious with the gravy. The meat and the vegetables were chopped fairly finely, so it stuck together fairly well. It’s nice to see some good pasty restaurants this far south, and I hope they continue making great pasties.

My husband and I live in Brooklyn, NY, and when we visit his home state of Michigan, we try to get to Up North for the most amazing pasties ever eaten. We even buy a dozen frozen and drive them in freeze packs back home to Brooklyn to savor over the next few months. I wish we could get them shipped, because my husband and I are craving them right now! Service is friendly, too!

Up North has a wide array of sandwiches and a variety of pasties for sale. They were very friendly when I picked up my food. The frozen to go pasties are amazing if you are having people over and need to feed a crowd. Definitely don’t skip out on the gravy when you order

If you’re ever offered a fork for a sandwich, you know it’s going to be good! Chipotle cheese steak & BBQ brisket are the sandwiches we chose. Beautifully crafted, amazing flavors. We ordered jalenpo mozzarella sticks as well. Everything was delicious!

Great hot sandwiches and cold. Unique fixings. Great staff, owner actively managing and greeting customers. They also have cheese cake, brownies and fudge, all made from scratch and in house. Up North also does catering.

This place is something you would pass without a second look when on the road. It would certainly be your loss. The food and service is great! The food will be out before you know it and might rival JJ’s. Lol
The streak sandwich was delicious, cheesy, and loaded with flavor. The bread was the softest bread and was perfect for the sandwich. I enjoyed the sandwich from the very first bit to the last. I didn’t have green peppers on mine but it can come with it. The ingredients that were on there (onions and mushrooms were fresh and plentiful. If you like cheese, you will love this one. The meat was tender and delicious.
The other sandwich is the pecan chicken salad with a drink. If you like chicken salad, this is the one. The ingredients are all fresh and the grapes and pecan really set everything off but after bite. The croissant was soft and had a slight sweetness to it. If I could have ate both, I would have!
The seating area is basic but accommodating. The tables and chairs are not the most up to date but I am not going there for the seating. The tables can easily accommodate a larger group or just one. You do feel comfortable while eating there.
