I am posting this a lot later than planned—I had to recover from all the excitement and tackle my work backlog—but I just had to share how amazing everything turned out.
We recently celebrated our mom’s 75th surprise party at Creekside, hosted and catered by University Grill, and it was truly unforgettable. The venue was decorated beautifully, setting the perfect atmosphere for such a special milestone.
We chose an Italian-inspired menu, and it was a huge hit with our guests. The veggie lasagna stole the show—it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The meatballs came in a close second, hearty and delicious. Even the salad was so good that my husband went back for seconds (and thirds!).
What impressed us most was how the team at University Grill took our ideas and brought them to life. They listened, guided us, and made sure every detail came together seamlessly. Their hospitality and attention to detail turned our vision into a night full of memories that our family will cherish forever.
We would absolutely recommend both the Creekside venue and University Grill catering for anyone planning a celebration. They made our mom’s 75th birthday not just a party, but an experience we’ll never forget.

The food was so good, I’d definitely recommend this over alot of the other restaurants in the area. Online it doesn’t look like much, but the atmosphere is nice, classy, but still kind of casual, definitely a place to take a date to.

We have been here twice. Once just for drinks and to see live music, and this occasion for dinner on a Monday evening in September. Both times we sat outside on the patio.
The restaurant is part of the hotel but of course you don’t have to be staying here to come to the grill.
Our server this night was a young college student. He was friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks and then our meals. The drinks were good. I had a peach lemonade. I had the dill pickle chicken sandwich for dinner. I don’t eat a lot of sandwiches really but this sounded good to me and it really was. Their chips are good too. I only had a bite of the Baja chicken panini and the flavor on that was good.
The outdoor patio is nice and when they have live music is sounds great.
Prices were comparable with everywhere else we go locally.
Since this is a hotel there is a parking lot behind the building but there is also street parking out front. We parked maybe a block away – it’s not a bad walk.
Overall we had a good time both times we have been here.

I came in yesterday for lunch with a very large party of just over 20 ladies. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was fantastic. Compliments to the chefs, Tyler and Boog. My Baja Chicken Melt was to die for and the sweet potato fries were the best that I ever had. Every one of the ladies at our luncheon greatly enjoyed their lunches, as well. Also, our server, Navea, was very sweet and her service was excellent being as there was so many of us! The gentleman serving us with her (didn’t catch his name), was also excellent. Can’t wait to dine here again in the future.

We stopped in for brunch on our way out of town after visiting for the holidays. The food and service were top notch. My sandwich was delicious and my husband’s brunch entree was devoured. Our service was also great, very attentive gave great recommendations. Unfortunately we witnessed the manager come up at the end of our meal and act extremely unprofessional to our server only 5ft from where we were sitting. We over heard the entire argument because the manager was not professional enough to take things off the floor. The manager stated “I know you have school and a busy schedule but I don’t care. That is not my problem this bar is my problem. Tough it up, life is hard.” It was one of the most unprofessional displays of poor leadership I have seen in a restaurant and just a complete lack of awareness of the customers sitting only feet away. I hope ownership is aware of this toxic environment and personalty.

Food is way overpriced in regard to quality and flavor. The kitchen is as slow as molasses. Not sure what they’re doing back there? Definitely not seasoning the food. My son ordered the NY strip steak ($38) and it was not seasoned at all, totally bland. I can say I have never seen a NY strip steak so thin. It was like a steak cutlet ready to be chicken fried. The crab cakes that were served with the Chesapeake chicken were mushy and made with low grade claw meat…not worth the $32 price tag. To make matters worse, there’s an extra charge added when using a credit card. Like seriously?!

Great little bar for a hotel bar. Service is excellent and beer is cold. Lots of friendly locals hang here and rave about how good the food is. Great happy hour specials on drinks. Friendly bartender and staff.
