Growing up in Northern China, dumplings have always been the most special food for our family reunion. Apart from being tasty, what really makes them special is that their preparation involves all the family and the harmony and joy created among our family members. Now having children of our own, we started United Dumplings, hoping to pass along our fond childhood memories of happy family reunions to our children through our interpretation of dumplings. During the process of creating our Tasty Dumplings menu, we kept Grandma’s handed-down recipes. Great service! Food was tasty. We had the XLB soup dumpling combination sampler (which were good but small), grandma’s pot stickers (which were missing the crispy edges), Mongolian beef (good), and garlic pea shoots (delicious). Nice atmosphere.

United dumpling is a family run dumpling store. The service was tardy and the food took more than 20 mins to arrive.
The dumplings are good but not in the same league as dumpling home or dumpling story. The dumpling skin was also a little on the thicker side.
I tried the Sichuan chilli oil dumpling and the beef and celery dumpling. Both were nice.
Fun to watch the dumplings made in front of you. Good meal at the price point.

I found this dumpling place by accident on a road trip to SF, and it turned out to be a solid stop. We were a group of five, including a baby, and the server told us upfront that it would be at least 10 minutes before he could get to us. I appreciated the honesty, and we were fine waiting.
We ordered two soup dumplings (pork and chicken), oolong tea, wings, and a rice dish. Everything came out hot and tasted great. The soup dumplings were the standout — super fresh and full of flavor — and the wings and rice rounded out the meal perfectly.
If you’re in the area, this is an easy recommendation for good, satisfying dumplings and quick, straightforward service.

Ok it’s been a few months since my visit because I didn’t want to write it right away but I had a disappointing experience.
First, they were out of a few items I wanted. This was Saturday lunchtime. Specifically, all the mini pan-fried buns. He told us after seating and ordering. Bummer but ok. Then we ordered. I won’t go into the details.
He tells us up front they are short staffed in the kitchen and we MUST take our entire order at one time. Okaaay. Well that’s pretty normal I think. So we ordered 5 items. Keep in mind there are three of us so that’s a sizable order I think. And it’s not cheap here.
After 15 minutes one item comes. Ok no sweat, I’m sure it’ll all be out shortly. Nope. 15 minutes later we all what’s up and he says they are short staffed in the kitchen. He’ll check. He brings out second dish. Two dishes in 30 minutes. Still three to go.
Now I’m noticing other tables have been getting their food. And they ordered after us. I’m like, what? I ask the guy again to check. Takes him 8 more minutes to come back. In the meantime I see even more people get their food. Finally he’s back: “I’m sorry, there was an error in the order printing machine”. I’ll make your food now.
It’s 45 minutes since ordering and almost an hour since sitting. I’m like, no thanks we can’t wait longer, we’ll just pay for what we had. He rolls his eyes and said he has to try and back it out, or something like that, like I’m really inconveniencing him. Another 5 minutes for that.
Don’t like the way it happened. Don’t like the customer service or the attitude. My few months cooling off period didn’t help I guess.
I will say the food we did get was good.

I have been to the Oakland location perhaps 4 or 5 times. The very first time I went, I really liked the atmosphere. It felt spacious and inviting.
The food was also very good. In particular, I would recommend the grandma pork dumplings, the DanDan noodles and the sauteed string beans. The service was prompt and the whole experience was – I have been going there ever since.

Their waitress staff was excellent and super friendly. I have never ate Dumplings before. I decide to pick this place for me to eat Dumpling for for the first time. HOLY MOLY!!! I can’t get over how delicious dumpling was!!! Cook perfect tender and favor. We order pork and crab dumpling. Also, we order Singapore Curry Chicken Fried Rice; it became the BEST RICE I ever ate and favor was super delicious. I highly recommend to get this rice.

The family likes to come here whenever possible. This time we ordered the dumplings, XLB, spicy wonton, pan fried dumpling, cucumber salad & the pea shoots.
Everything is tasty; the pan fried dumplings had a nice crisp bottom crust & the little tin for the XLB makes it perfect for slurping up any missed juiciness. Both veg dishes were nice & fresh. The dumpling making lady seemed to be having a great time churning out dumplings & we enjoyed watching that yumminess being made in front of us.

Such a great experience, unexpected to be honest. The food is great, not salty at all, fresh, made to order, and very tasty. Much better than other dumpling places in the East Bay. The service is friendly and efficient – 2 waiters for the whole place and yet they were fast and reliable. The atmosphere is very nice, with a bright light and clean space that makes it a joy to be there. Highly recommended and will definitely be back
