Ordered through DoorDash and the food was pretty good. I got the Nose Job (jerk chicken wings) with mac and cheese, cabbage, and a Hawaiian roll. My total was $35 including tip, and you definitely get plenty for the price.
The chicken was extremely tender and falling off the bone. I’m not the biggest fan of the jerk flavor used, but others seem to really enjoy it.
The mac and cheese was really good with the perfect amount of flavor, and the cabbage was good as well, though it was a little salty for my taste.
The presentation was perfect. They included utensils and hand wipes, which was thoughtful because the wings do get a little messy.
Overall, I would try this place again.

I have to be honest with my review. The jerk chicken was not good at all. I never had a “jerk” chicken like the one they served. It was not seasoned and had a weird coating on it and the skin was slimy. I understand it was baked but I couldn’t force myself to finish it. I would like to know why my jerk chicken looked so different then the other reviewers. It definitely gave old or not fresh from the look and taste. I can say the sides (greens, sweet potatoes, mac & cheese) was really good and seasoned well. My husband had the oxtail and they also were not good. They needed more seasoning. I’m from Louisiana and know what good soul food is supposed to taste like and this isn’t it. I wish I could continue supporting this black business but it’s hard when the product needs more work. Overall, the staff was really nice.

I ordered late in the evening, and the owner personally called to let me know they added extra oxtails since I was the last order of the night. That small gesture spoke volumes about their kindness and attention to their customers. The oxtails were tender and seasoned perfectly — fall-off-the-bone good. You can taste the care in every bite. Definitely one of my new go-to spots when I want great soul food and genuine service. Highly recommend!

Only rated food and service because I ordered three Uber Eats . I had to come and re-edit my review after noticing the jerk wings which was not what I order all had multiple wing hairs on them just horrible.
I received the incorrect plate . Food was very cold more cold than usual for a food that should be atleast warm by the time it arrives to me not im only 15mins away . the only thing with flavor was the Mac and greens . Mashpotatoes were very nasty . I truly hate making bad reviews but when I buisness does not care we shouldn’t either .

While traveling, I was on the hunt for good soul food and I’m so glad I found Under the Knife. You can truly taste the love and pride in the cooking—everything I tried was seasoned to perfection and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and the service was just as great as the food. The simple “have a great day” statement really made my day. I can’t wait to eat here again.

I have been looking for good soul food since I moved to this area. Safe to say I have finally found it. You can tell they cook with love and pride. Everything I’ve tried has been perfectly flavored. They also give you a good portion for the meat. My only critique is to give more rice because as a Carribean girl the rice has to be the same portion as the protein. But that’s just me. Overall I’m newly addicted.

I’ve had almost every entree on the menu my personal favorite is the stuffed chicken! Cooked to perfection stuffed with cream cheese and beef sausage just sooo moist ! Which brings me to that corn bread that’s to die for!!! Definitely can taste the different cheese in the Mac & cheese as well 10/10 ! And the collard greens & yams as well are my go to! I recommend this order to everyone

Me and my hubby went here yesterday and first we both were a little on the edge when we arrived. But we decided to give them a try. When I say the owner was so nice she had us try the food before we left and the moment we tried it we fell in love with this place. I had the jerk chicken with Mac and cheese and yams and he had the oxtails with the dirty rice, Mac and cheese and yams. Everything was sooooo good and juicy with a lot of flavor. We talked about how good our food was all the way home. She gave us a lot of food too which made our experience even better. We will be back.
