Under the Bodhi Tree is awesome, all the options are fresh and delicious, affordable, and healthy. I’ve tried a whole bunch of different menu items and have loved them all, I plan to try them all! My favorite so far is the Taureg, a savory peanut stew over brown rice. Unless the Sweet Charity fruit smoothy is my favorite, hard to decide!

We were vacationing on the big island when we found under the bodhi tree. We are a big group and had some people with diet restrictions as well as vegetarian’s with us so it can be hard to find a restaurant where everyone can eat. This place was fantastic. The menu was large and diverse, and everyone found something they could enjoy. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The staff is so sweet and helpful and the atmosphere is fun and energetics. This place is definitely a hidden gem! We liked it so much half of us took home souvenir T-shirts. If You’re on the big island you should check them out.!

I love this restaurant! As someone with a lot of dietary restrictions, it can be difficult to find a restaurant to eat at. This place had so many great tasting options. They were also very accommodating about putting multiple tables together to fit our large party. The atmosphere is a lot of fun too! They have free games to play and books to read. They also have a beautiful mandala painted on the wall. Which of course everyone in my family had fun getting their pictures taken in front of. The hospitality was excellent, too. All the staff was kind and courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant. All around a wonderful experience!

14 dollars for pono acai bowl with frozen fruits the cup was only filled half way Not worth it. My advice go take a beautiful drive down kalapana smoothie shack. Now that’s worth it gas and all.

We were happy to find a pure vegetarian and vegan place. The restaurant is spacious, clean and has a very positive vibe. They have board games and the kids loved it.

Smoothie bowls here are a joke. Over 14 bucks for a bowl with one small scoop of açaí. I was appalled at the serving size. It was not even enough to feed a child. Atmosphere is gloomy and there’s never anyone in there besides the odd workers sitting there at the tables with an attitude. I do not recommend them at all.

My wife happened to see a flyer for Da Kind Family Band (a Grateful Dead copy band) playing a St. Paddy’s Day evening gig at Under The Bodhi Tree in Pahoa. We’d scene a flyer for the band once before, but that date had passed, and we weren’t going to miss it again.

Sooo bland. Spiced African Peanut Stew was neither spiced nor a peanut stew, rather a pumpkin stewish with a few peanuts sprinkled on top. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts were raw, dry, tough and tasteless. Definitely the worst food I ever had in my mouth. A waste of time and $22.

Was recently on a trip to Hawaii with a large group and we stopped in at Under the Bodhi Tree for dinner. Absolutely amazing vegetarian food! With such a large group I got to try a variety of food off the menu and it all was amazing! We stopped by later in the week for smoothies, tea and Acai bowls yummy! I highly recommend for either a full on meal or an afternoon snack or drink! Fast friendly and efficient service as well!
