Service was friendly on a pickup takeout order. Food was just warm when we got home (probably should have used a insulated food carrier). Good sized portions. Everything was good, but not mind blowing. The General Tso’s had a lot of breading and didnt expect corn in my dumplings. Turns out through research, corn is a popular ingredient. Anyhow. Overall the food got me by and my partner enjoyed it, but I don’t think this place is for me.

I love Chinese food, and I love Chinese American food. Today… I wanted the latter. I love sweet and sour chicken (especially with traditional sweet and sour sauce, not the overly sweet red “lollipop” sauce that many restaurants use. I decided to try Uncle Sun.

When I walked in, I noted that it is very small… with limited seating, and pretty bare bones in the aesthetics. Probably does a lot of take-out more than dine in.

There was a strong odor of burned cooking oil that was off putting.

The lady at the counter was friendly, and took my order quickly. They do not have any hot tea, which would have been nice on a cold day. So I got a coke. I sat down and then had to move… as the sun was coming in the window and blinding me where I sat. Other patrons came in and had to move also for that reason.

They brought my food out and placed it on the table, which was nice. Portions were decent sized.

The breaded chicken in my Sweet and Sour Chicken was mostly breading… very little chicken (see attached photo). Breading was not crispy at all… a bit mushy (I suspect they use pre-breaded chicken that was frozen, which is becoming more common… blech! Hard to make that crispy, unless double fried). The sweet and sour sauce was a little bitter… which I associate with pre-made (sysco? Not made in house) sauce. Very thin, overly sweet and a slight bitterness.

Rice was ok… pretty good actually.

Some might say I am too picky? But with the meal, a coke, and a tip… this was over $20… and there are other places that do this meal better for about the same price.

This place was fantastic… I called a few days beforehand to make sure they were open for Thanksgiving and I’m glad I did. They weren’t busy at all but we still wanted to eat at home. Even with the few minute drive home it didn’t fail to impress. They had everything in a custom decals, even the go bag… very sturdy btw. The food was to die for. Not only was it better than the common Chinese spot but really, this beef and broccoli melted in your mouth. The broccoli was fresh and crunchy but the beef. Wow, thank you. There were no chives in the cream cheese Wontons, which we liked even better. The egg drop soup was so hot and homely, perfect for that cold day! I believe he threw in some potstickers or something for our baby on the way! Much appreciated I had the orange chicken and I really appreciated the smaller chopped chicken and how the rice was cared for. The customer service was sweet, like seeing an old friend, even though we took it to go. We will return. Thank you for making our holiday ours.

My partner and I visited this spot today to try some pork buns, and it was such a treat! We hadn’t had pork buns in years and had only ever tried steamed ones before. When we asked about the fried buns, they kindly gave us half fried and half steamed so we could try both—such a thoughtful gesture!

The service was fantastic; both the cook (possibly the owner?) and the cashier were incredibly sweet and kind. The food came out super fast, and to our surprise, they even included two complimentary bowls of soup since it was our first time visiting.

Another great touch was the reusable to-go bag they provided—such a rare and thoughtful feature around town!

Everything about our experience was wonderful, and I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone. We’ll definitely be back!

Fast casual. Restaurant opened their doors two days ago. Nice people. Pleasant and accommodating. Ready, willing and able. I ordered the Beef and Noodles and the Pork Pot Stickers. Good food. I took my order to go. I had a couple of more stops before I arrived home. Good flavors and the dipping sauce for the Pot Stickers was made in house with a nice kick. I will most certainly be returning. I know my nephews will enjoy it here.

It’s a wonderful place for a quiet meal and delicious orange chicken and cream cheese wontons. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be returning for that and the beautiful service. Keep up the awesome work.

I’m super shocked by the reviews on here. Maybe things have changed a lot in the last few weeks / months. But. This place was amazing when I tried it yesterday. And the staff was SO kind. I’m not normally a huge fan on tipping a lot to go orders, but yesterday I did because of how friendly they were.

I’m attaching the review I left on yelp as well, just singlce it is pretty detailed on specific food items.

I happened to be scrolling on yelp when I saw them. It said only 3 stars, but the photos looked yummy, so I decided to give it a try.

After googling them, they have a couple different versions of their menu out there. Which was a tad confusing, but I called for clarification on the items I wanted to order.

The location was easy to find. Inside dining area is a little plain, but looks very clean. I ordered to go, so that didn’t affect me personally.

Get the BBQ pork buns! My favorite was ordering them steamed. But my mom loved them pan fried. I did feel like there was too many pieces of pork fat in them, but it was more like pork belly fat than a decision made to cut corners. I feel like it wouldn’t bother most people, but I’m weird with textures. My mom and brother weren’t phased by the pieces of fat, so it wasn’t OVERWHELMING, just something a picky eater might notice. The flavor of the sauce was AMAZING though. Definitely worth picking out some of the pork belly like pieces to eat it.

I ordered the orange chicken with noodles.
The chicken looked similar to like, fast food style chicken. But when I tasted it, I was wrong! Inside it was very fresh. And the orange chicken sauce was really good as well. The noodles were yummy, but I would probably order fried rice next time after seeing and trying my brother’s rice.

My mom ordered the szechuan chicken and fried rice. She said it hit the spot just right. The chicken was good, the veggies were perfect. The sauce had a slight kick to it without being too hot.

My brother ordered the dinner fried rice, add beef. The beef was very fresh. He had me try his rice, and I can attest it was amazing.

The staff inside were so friendly. They included some free / complimentary items with our meal. One item we mentioned because of the sign they had with placing a big order. But then they also gave extra soup and wrote “gift” on the container. It was very sweet and just left me feeling like a valued customer.

We definitely will all be coming back at some point. Whether together or bringing our own friends / different people with us.

The only negative thing that I do wish would be fixed… is how their menu is written / advertised. Yes, different websites mentioned mostly the same items, but some had items that others didn’t have. (Ex; grubhub mentioned steamed buns, but their website only mentioned the pan fried option) Also with the menu, I wish there was a little bit of an explanation on some items. Maybe a description of what type of flavor Uncle Sun’s Secret Sauce is. I know it’s a secret (and my mom did love it) but she was hesitant to order something with it without knowing anything about it. Another item that isn’t described is the “Cabbage with Sauce,” it doesn’t mention what type of sauce is used.

Overall, the negatives were minor and a quick phone call could answer any questions you have if you really wanted to try something.

Delightful place. Good quality food that is clearly a cut above other places at this price point. The food is homemade and that difference is present in the taste and overall outcome. Excellent takeawy spot. Will return many times in the future.

Atmosphere is fine, nothing super amazing or increadibly worrisome. Clean, well appointed, basic.

Not too shabby. The fried noodles weren’t entirely to my liking but the flavor is quite good. The portion size for the wonton soup was also surprising.

Love everything I ordered. Beef Broccoli, Curry beef steamed buns and Orange chicken bowl. I especially loved the orange chicken not overly sweet with a nice orange taste.
