We went to Uncle Remus because my step son 45 wanted to scratch this place off his bucket list he is always buying Harold chicken..Well I haven’t had Uncle Remus in pretty close to 30 years yes thirty… But I remember they are the best chicken and mild sauce place to go and they did not disappoint me food freshly cooked chicken was on point now I got the string beans the flavor was amazing but you could not get pass the salt.. It was overly salty we could not eat it.. the chocolate cake to me was better than portillo’s. Will go back..

BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN CHICAGO NO DOUBT!!! A true treasure to the west side! In my opinion better than harolds! And my order always comes out quick! And the mild sauce is outstanding!

My chicken was fresh but they always seem to serve old fries . You can look at that picture and see they’re super old. Also I placed an online order and she tried to send me to another location and im glad I paid attention because I almost went . Them it seems like with these new fry bags that aren’t filling them all the way up I order a large fry and they basically gave me a large fry bag with a small order of old fries

So I like the chicken even though it is on the expensive side for 6 wings compared to other places. Tonight I went here ordered 6 wings and upgrade my fries to a large from a medium. I paid the up charge got home opened my food to disappointment and anger. They put a large container and only filled it with the same amount of fries as a medium. Next time I will check before I leave for my large order of fries

Reluctantly, I removed my 3 star review, and I changed it to 1 star. I also included a screenshot of the previous 3 star review. My food yesterday was not up to the proper quality, and I feel like I paid way too much money for my food to not be quality.
I placed an online order, and the eta was roughly 30 min. I arrived at the restaurant in maybe 20 min. My food was getting bagged. The customer service was fine. I was greeted when I went to the window. My order was correct. When I got home to open my food, I was highly disappointed. The wings were all very small and definitely not worth what I paid. 3 of the 6 wings had big visible feathers still on them. I am not exaggerating when I say they were small! I posted a video because I couldn’t believe it.
I know inflation is at an all-time high, and the prices are being passed to consumers. However, lessoning quality while raising prices should not be part of the equation. I won’t be back for a while.

Ten years ago we loved this place! I would get food for my family that came from out of town. But now, the chicken stinks and smells like it’s been in the walk-in cooler for months drowned in a mild sauce. And I waited 15 minutes for this? I should’ve went to the McDonalds in Oak Park. That’s my fault!

Not sure how the food was because I wasn’t allowed to try it. Me and a friend go check it out one day during a slow winter day and we arrived in the middle of the day, nowhere near closing time, and we get told that they’re closed and they’re not making food right now. No reason why either like if they had some issues in the back of the house or something where they couldn’t operate or process payments/orders. We didn’t even get two steps past the door when she was quick to try and get us to leave so she could continue talking to her friend that was just chilling by the register. Maybe it’s a racist thing cause me and my friend are both non-black Hispanic but the service was terrible and definitely was not worth going to the hood for even to try and check out what was said to be good chicken. Lazy and rude waste of time overall

Me and my fiancé came from out of town to this recommended spot from many locals. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t the best. I didn’t realize there was no dine in and that’s on me, but nevertheless we wanted to try this spot. The cashier was off putting and took a while to get our order in, and when we ordered a 5 piece chicken combo with fries, our fries never came. I didn’t want to ask since we already waited over 30 minutes for our order and the cashier looked irritated so we didn’t bother. Chicken was cooked good and the sauce was not bad. It was sweet and a tangy which I like, but not mind blowing like others have stated. Ovrerall the long wait times, missing fries, and just average chicken isn’t enough for me to recommend this spot.
