Good pizza and nice crust. We were not in a hurry since our flight was delayed. A little long for our pizza indeed. If you are in a hurry, may need to avoid this place.
Other than that, great hot and fresh pizza for this trip. Pizza always great when it is hot with melting cheese and flavorful ingredients.
If I could give -5 stars, I absolutely would. This was hands-down one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, and to make matters worse, it happened in an airport where time is critical. I almost missed my flight due to the sheer lack of efficiency and professionalism at Uncle Maddio’s Pizza.
I waited nearly 45 minutes for a simple cheese pizza. The staff, comprised mostly of unprofessional young employees, seemed completely untrained and indifferent to the urgency of airport dining. The person cutting pizzas was literally FaceTiming on his phone, which he left sitting on the food prep table. Not only is this incredibly unsanitary, but it’s completely disrespectful to both the customers and food safety standards. The manager addressed it briefly, but he went right back to doing it the moment she walked away.
Two other girls working the line were visibly annoyed when asked basic questions, snapping at the manager and muttering under their breath about customers. Which, by the way, everyone could hear. When I finally asked about my pizza because my flight was about to board, I was met with a condescending response “Well, we called out a cheese pizza and you didn’t say anything.” There were 15+ other people waiting, how was I supposed to know it was mine with no system or organization in place?
To make matters worse, the order printer was down, and nobody on staff communicated this to waiting customers, causing an even longer delay. It was total chaos. I saw pizzas sitting out, uncut, while staff stood around or argued amongst themselves. I was honestly about ready to walk behind the counter and do it myself just to get out in time.
The manager eventually disappeared to the back to talk with another manager, leaving the two unprofessional girls alone to manage everything — badly. I didn’t even have time to ask for a refund because I had to sprint to my gate to avoid missing my flight.
This place is a disaster, especially for being located inside an airport where efficiency and customer service are critical. Whoever is in charge of this location needs to do a full retraining on professionalism, hygiene, time management, and basic human decency. I’ll never return to this location and I strongly recommend others avoid it at all costs! Your flight might depend on it.
But it was so yummy, it was crispy and cheesy. Worth visiting again.
