We were traveling through & wanted to stop for lunch.
We ordered:
Pretzel
Irish Nachos
Ruben Burger w/ fries
It was ALL AMAZING
If you are local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping in or taking a plate to go.
We got ours to go, it was quick, fresh & hot!
We will stop again if we ever pass back through & are able to stop.
We went to Uncle Kranky’s last night, and it was such a disappointment. This used to be one of our favorite places—we’ve been coming here for years with our daughter, and it was always a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case.
This isn’t a one-time issue. On our recent visits, we’ve waited over an hour for our food. Last night was the final straw: once again, we waited over an hour, and when the food finally arrived, my $30 roast beef dinner was cold. That’s unacceptable. The waitress said she would “take care of it,” but the plate was just put in the microwave to reheat it. To make matters worse, my husband had to bring the plate back to her himself.
My daughter’s spaghetti barely had any sauce on it. No one came over to explain the long delays or check in with us. If you’re going to have customers waiting that long, communication matters. And honestly, if the wait is going to be that long, at least have comfortable chairs—sitting there for over an hour was painful.
I’ve worked in the restaurant industry before, so I understand things happen. But when the house is overwhelmed, in-house guests should come first. It might be time to pause or limit takeout until dine-in service is under control.
It’s really sad to see a place we’ve supported for years go downhill like this. Between the long waits, cold food, lack of communication, and the overall decline in experience, we can’t recommend Uncle Kranky’s anymore. This used to be a place we loved, which makes this even more disappointing.
