We finally made it out to Uncle Julio’s in Annapolis for date night, and it hit the spot for our Tex-Mex cravings. From the moment we walked up under the string lights, the atmosphere was welcoming, but the service really set the tone for the night. The staff was so personable and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without rushing us. The prices are a little higher than expected but it was worth it!
Now, let’s talk about the real stars of the show: the food. You can taste that everything is made straight from the grill.
The Highlights:
The Homemade Tortillas: This isn’t an exaggeration—these might be the best flour tortillas I’ve ever had in a restaurant. They bring them out warm in their own little container (pictured!), and they are so soft and fresh. You can tell they were just made.
The Steak Fajitas: The classic test of a great Tex-Mex spot. These arrived sizzling loudly on the cast iron skillet loaded with fresh peppers and onions. The steak had a perfect char from the grill but was still tender. Wrapping that steak in those warm, handmade tortillas was perfection.
We also sampled some tacos and the sides of rice and beans, which were all flavorful and fresh. If you want a made-to-order meal where you can taste the quality ingredients, definitely check out Uncle Julio’s in Annapolis. Highly recommended!

Food was OK, but check out my empty glass; it stayed like this for several minutes. While our server voluntarily checked on the adjacent table at least half a dozen times, my wife and I sat there with empty glasses and mostly empty plates. By the time our server asked if we were “still doing OK,” the only thing with which we were “OK” was getting the check. We weren’t drinking elaborate mixed beverages; it was an unsweetened tea and a Coke Zero. Easy enough and I typically tip generously; all I ask with any restaurant visit is that I don’t have to ask for refills. Try harder next time.

Probably the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Fresh ingredients, perfect seasoning, attentive, and friendly staff, and a wonderful surrounding. Anytime you see the staff making your tortillas fresh, you know it’s gonna be good.
I had to pull chicken, enchiladas, fresh tortillas, perfectly cooked in seasoned chicken, wonderful mole, and the rice was outstanding. So often what you get is obviously a frozen, thawed, and microwaved dish that’s soggy. Not here!

To be so forreal right now, I’m incredibly disappointed! I ordered online through the direct website and ordered for pickup. I paid for the ribs + combination fajita meal, two fajita quesadillas and one birria quesadilla. Okay sure, comes up to 82 dollars without tax and tip and all. You would think that for that price, things would come out nicely. Nooo! My birria quesadilla was crispy but crispy in the way the chips are, which is not the usual in my experience. Burnt texture, but not burnt taste. There is no taste actually.. it had no flavor. I can’t even say it tasted bad, it tasted like ✨nothing✨! Flavorless. It’s meant to be a very well spiced food, so this was a bummer. Also, back to the ribs and combination fajita meal, it came with nooo tortillas.. and the wrong side.. overall, tonight’s dinner was a total let-down. I actually really enjoy this spot and have had a great experience whenever we’ve dined in! It’s been a favorite since they opened this location, so it’s not all bad. The pickup and delivery service needs to improve though.
Also, the staff were very rude! It seems as though the host on the phone had a whole attitude and snapped at my sister for not knowing the “number” she was referring for was the spot number and not the confirmation number.

I would first like to say their steak quesadias are the absolute best i have ever had. The drinks amazing. Service was great, thank you to the lady that made the dip at the table. Now for the most amazing part was our waiter Josh. He did an absolute amazing job serving his customers. Not one time did he write an order down, nor did he forget or mess up an order. He was very attentive to our needs and wants with out even batting an eye. He completed every request with a big appreciative smile. Thank you Josh, and Uncle Julios make it known to him and show him his worth with your company and customers. A great asset indeed.

It was super packed the day before a parade! So if it was a regular night, the food may have been a little better. I ordered fajitas and the peppers and onions were completely raw. There were also only 3 strips of pepper and basically an entire onion. The service, while slow as it was packed, was excellent. Our server, Ethan, was top notch!

The steak fajita was good, but our waiter was sporadically here and there. When we needed him, he was nowhere to be found. Also, I got the mixed berry margarita (seasonal fruit margarita). The first one was fine. The second one was not good. It didn’t taste like it had any alcohol and they dumped the entire mixed berry mix into my drink so it was very sweet. In addition, our waiter, Jameil, almost spilled part of my first drink on me. Said he was going to get napkins and didn’t. I had to remind him because it was spilled on my chair and on the table in front of me. Not good service from him or whoever made my drinks. Kitchen was on point though.

We popped up on the late night. They give complimentary salsa and chips. I had the taco salad with steak which was surprisingly filling and hubby had the chicken and skirt steak fajitas which was so delicious. The rice and beans , chicken perfectly cooked. Medium steak wasn’t really medium but still very tender. I’m definitely coming back. The vibe is nice and moderately priced. I almost forgot to mention, the regular margaritas are strong and a good price!

Awesome atmosphere, superb service, and great tasting food. Their guacamole is some of the best I’ve ever had (and free for the first time if you download their app and register). I had tacos picadillos and they came out hot and delicious. Staff all around was excellent, professional, and friendly. Will definitely be returning!

Went with some friends after an event to Uncle Julio’s for a few drinks and some appetizers. Was our first time there and inside was really nice. Our waiter was great and gave us some good suggestions. We had the handmade guacamole which they come to your table and make it fresh in front of you. We also had some mini birria tacos which were also good. Topped it off with a Cadillac margarita. Overall the experience was great and I would look forward to going back for a full meal.
