I’ve been going to Uncle Julio’s for 37 years and I still
Think they have the best chips and fajitas around. Super fresh always and the fire roasted salsa is perfectly made!!! Love the fresh smoked chicken and beef fajitas with the homemade tortillas.
Enjoy it with a swirl frozen margarita and sangria combo.

We ordered two bean and cheese burritos for the grandkids, steak fajitas and the combination chicken and steak Danita’s. Our drinks included a margarita flight and one margarita with reposado (floater). The kids burritos weee very tiny and both of our grandkids said it would normal them. Thankfully we were able to request extra tortillas and we recreated a bean and cheese burrito with what we received from our fajitas. The kids each ate an extra 3 so that will tell you how small the kids portion was. The margaritas were fair, both the worse but definitely not the best. The fajitas is where it really tanked for us. This was probably the lowest quality of steak I’ve ever eaten. It was just awful. Even the aesthetics of the meat was not pleasant. The salsa and chips were bland and lacked flavor. I can say this was not upscale Mexican food.

We normally used DoorDash and had the food delivered from this location, happy with the food quality and choices. This time we decided to try the Ballston location and dine-in.
We came for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was not busy. When they noticed us we were seated. We ordered the cheese dip for an appetizer. It was ok, they didn’t give us any small plates so our table got a little messy. Instead of cleaning it up they just put our entrees on top of it. Our server wasn’t very attentive so I had to take napkins off the other tables, plus ask for water refills consistently.
Beef tacos- tasty and their tortillas seemed fresh
Chicken/beef fajitas- meat was prepared well but the flour tortillas I was given were dry and chalky.
Chocolate piñata for dessert was nice for my husbands birthday. That was the reason we came so I could surprise him with that. We liked the churros and the strawberries were sweet.
So after this experience we will stick to DoorDash when it comes to Uncle Julio’s. Our food quality and quantity was actually better, faster and reliable.

Bad location this bone. Food wasn’t good. Romaine lettuce was garbage smh. Tacos were subpar. We’ve been to several Mexican restaurants and this by far was worst. Service was horrible waiter never gave me and my husband utensils, we had to ask another waiter to assist. We asked for chilled white wine. It was room temperature. When we sent back waiter came back and said they were out. Such in inconvenience on date night. I definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone and we will not br returning.

I had the worst experience ever in that restaurant.
First, the fork and the knife were dirty! Second, the service was a disaster! We had to wait for a while for anyone to attend us and nothing! Calling one and calling the other and nothing! It looked like I was begging to attend is ! The tortillas were old and not fresh! I requested from the waiter two boxes, for me and my friend, and it took for ever to bring it because she was having a conversation with her colleague! No respect at all to the clients!
I will never go back there, but I will go to the one in Reston because yes and yes that one the service, environment, the waiters and the food are the best!

$75 dollars for this is B.S.!! I ordered fajitas for two and this is definitely a portion for one. I also order queso blanco and this is clearly not blanco. Worst part… NO CHIPS! Complete lack of effort for the customers. Maybe check your orders before sending them off. There’s always something missing and I will never order from here again.

We visited this establishment with my family for the first time, and my impression of the service and cleanliness was extraordinary. My waiter Demian, was simply professional, attentive, and excessively courteous. If there were more waiters like him, experiences in restaurants would be perfect.
As for the food, while it was served quickly and hot, I did not like the taste at all; it felt more like American cuisine than Mexican. The drinks were acceptable, and the ambiance was very nice.

Came to the Arlington location and was disappointed. I grew up eating at the Woodbridge location, which may have been one of the firsts Uncle Julio’s, so I was naturally comparing both. The food at this location lacked flavor and presentation. The margaritas were okay. Probably won’t visit again however, this was MY experience.

Food was pretty good but it took us almost 40 mins to get the food and 20 more minutes for dessert. I love the atmosphere. It was really nice outside the terrace. I would definitely come back. It may not be a good place for people who are super hungry. Luckily we were taking our time.
