Social Profile:

Uncle J’s Low Bridge Station is where Canastota’s history meets hometown comfort. Located in a restored 1854 building along the Erie Canal and railroad tracks, we serve up breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week—with a menu rooted in local tradition, fresh ingredients, and a little attitude. Family-owned and community-driven, we’re proud to honor the flavors of our region—Italian, Irish, German, Oneida Nation, and good ol’ muckland farm fare—all served with a side of storytelling. Whether you’re here for a hearty meal, a cold drink, or a warm welcome, Uncle J’s is the station where everyone stops eventually. Come hungry, leave happy (and maybe with a few new friends).

Stopped here on the way back from Oneida picking up a car. We chose this place because of the great reviews. We were not dissapointed. The place was very cute. Everything was spotless, and it was a very friendly atmosphere. Service was optimal. I had the reuben, wifey had the chicken sandwich. Both excellent.

Ended up here after a trip to the Wampsville DMV. What a great stop! Service was friendly, food was delicious! Silverware was sparkling clean (something I always look for) and so was the ladies’ restroom. Historical decor was interesting and the dining room was clean and inviting. Two beers, two soups, two grilled reubens with chips for $50. We will definitely be back.

Very cute business with a historical flavor. Attentive waitstaff and tasty food. I had the chicken parm made with a good sized piece of chicken and penne pasta. Really tasty. I especially loved the sauce. The accompanying salad was very large and well-made. I was disappointed at the limited choices because they had just opened, but what I got was very good.

This place looks so cute compared to how it used to be! They’ve done a great job with the updates. The food was great, I just wish there were more potatoes. Overall, a really good experience. Glad to have something like this in our little town.

had a really wonderful experience at uncle Jay’s Lowbridge station. was planning on stopping at Graziano’s. Didn’t realize it was closed and torn down four years ago. Well, worth a stop off the Thruway, definitely better prices on gas at the reservation nearby. my mother wouldn’t stop talking about how wonderful her Ruben was. Wonderfully lean corn beef.

Wanted to like this place more, but it falls short IMO. Great looking place, its been remodeled and is clean and updated. I will start with the beer. No interesting beers on tap. They just repeat what they have in bottles…all domestic Pilsners( Coors, BL, BUD etc.) with one seasonal ale that I could see. I understand local dive bars and cost effective selling, but they will never be anything but a local dive bar (which is fine) if they don’t expand either bottled beer or draft. FOOD: the menu is not great. I had lunch here and dinner. The lunch menu is find the Reuben was very good. Limited appetizer selections. Came back with wife for dinner a week later and diner menu is VERY limited only a few items worth trying. They do not even offer burgers (which they have for lunch) after 4pm. My limited options left me with a fish fry that was VERY over fried alone with the fries which were ok (could have been great, but also over fried). Seems like maybe the cook left them to long in the frier. Not what I look for in a restaurant/pub for to repeat dinning or drinks experience. It appears they offer breakfast also? Its it a bar or a diner? I will give this place some time as the owner seems to be on the right tract but lacking some identity and finding out what they shine at. My wife will not be back. lol I will try it again in the future. Maybe add some cool apps like Utica Greens or Poutine? toss in a basic good draft like Switchback or Boston Leger? and Burgers….burgers for dinner and lunch? Hope this place does well its in a good spot that needs a good pub.

If you’re not eating at Uncle J’s, you’re seriously missing out. The food? Phenomenal. That omelet was loaded and cooked perfectly, and the home fries with just the right amount of crispy edges? YES PLEASE. Pancakes? Fluffy little clouds sent from breakfast heaven. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, like eating at your favorite relative’s house (you know, the one that actually likes you). And the staff? Top. Freakin’. Notch. Friendly, fast, and full of smiles.
Highly recommend—just make sure you come hungry! Uncle J made me do it!

We stopped in on our way back to Watertown. We were pleasantly surprised. The owner and staff were very nice and accommodating. The building was beautiful and nostalgic and the food was very tasty. We came there as strangers but felt like family when we left. Try this place, you won’t regret it.

Place was great. Justin, the owner, served us — he was very kind and extremely accommodating. I ordered the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo and the sauce was absolutely perfect. The history displayed inside the restaurant was also a really nice touch, and as someone who isn’t from the area it was cool to learn about the story behind the place. Overall, great service, great food, and a very unique atmosphere.
