What an absolute gem of a restaurant. My wife and I were out exploring when we came across this wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were promptly at your table.
The food is out of this world and I believe that anything you order will be outstanding.

First time visit. Charming southern bbq restaurant inside and out. Full offering of BBQ, pork, brisket and chicken at a good value. I ordered togo and was very pleased with not only the Q quality but the attention to how the food was packed Togo. My brisket was moist, smokey and tender. Foil wrapped separate in its own juices holding nicely waiting to become a sandwich. The smoked wings were exceptional. Moist with alot of flavor and bit of sweetness on the back end. Cashier was very friendly and helpful. The dining room was active and cozy. A definite find.

We shared the ribeye soup and both had a pulled pork sandwich. I chose fried okra and my husband had the green beans. We both had sweet tea. The meal was tasty. Service was reasonably good, staff was nice. All kinds of cool decor. Lots of parking. Restrooms were clean.

I was told not to come back.
I didn’t holler.
I didn’t raise my voice.
I was just upset.
I removed the tip from my to go order and was told not to come back.
I knew it was going to be busy because it was Valentine’s Day. So I called at 330 and ordered a pick up for 530.
I get there at 525 and was told it would be done in 5 minutes. I live 5 minutes from the restaurant so I understand 5 minutes.
Someone else comes in after me for a 530 pick up. Ok, well I ask again if mine is ready. Nope we had a lot of orders come in it will be done soon. So I stand to the side and wait, and wait.
After 15 minutes I see 2 boxes sitting in the window and ask, are those mine. No, those aren’t yours. So I ask, can I have my money back? Nope they are boxing it up now.
One person said we just had someone pass away. I am sorry to hear that and I knew it was going to be busy that’s why I called at 330 to order it.
And I wait and watch one of the girls, literally take the 2 boxes I asked were mine, put them in a bag with 2 more boxes, turn around and hand them to me.
As I was heading to the door one of the girls from behind the counter said, dont come back. Ok, I won’t.
I used to love coming here, but service has dropped off. From being on hold to place an order so long that I was still on hold when I walked into the restaurant and ordered in the store to what happened today.
When I got home I took the prime rib out of the box and it felt cool to the touch. Like I said I live 5 minutes from the restaurant and the temp of the meat was 86 degrees. That was not something that just got boxed up.
Don’t worry about me gracing your business any longer if this is your treatment of customers

As country as it gets. We went in one of the prime rib nights. Extremely reasonably priced, and a good sized portion. If you want to taste the smoke in it, don’t dip it in the au jus, but it will almost taste like bacon. Our sides were mashed potatoes with gravy, which was smooth as silk, and country cooked green beans. We were only served one roll, but could have definitely eaten 2! My companion was celebrating her birthday, so we were treated with a song and a free dessert. If you aren’t a local, you’d never know Uncle Gus’s existed, but it’s well worth going off the beaten path to experience.

You will never leave hungry at Gus’s. Seat yourself/casual atmosphere with family seating and great servers. The country fried steak covers the entire platter, fantastic breading/gravy/potatoes on top of a piece of toast plus you get another side dish (fried okra is my fav). Sandwiches from burgers, prime rib, sloppy chicken or pulled pork, it will fill you up. Great fries or homemade chips w/their homemade ranch sauce so good-for a buck you can upgrade to a baked potato-always spot on and consistent.
Their family feasts are wonderful-brisket is our go to. Let’s not forget meatloaf-it is as good as my grandma made. When they make the cobblers or pies, it goes fast but it is a perfect end to a fantastic meal or because you will be full, get it to go for later it’s that good.
This is why it is our weekly outing as it’s affordable plus filling with no dishes to do. Give it a try-you won’t be disappointed.

My prime rib sandwich was good, I only wish it had more meat! The aus jus was really good for dipping. My hubby got the pork & chicken combo and it was ok. We did not like the flat green beans, too salty & the flavor wasn’t good. My fires were good and hot & crispy. Big plus for me. The decor is old times with lots of memorabilia on the walls & ceiling.

Tasty little BBQ hole in the wall- the best kind! Very eclectically decorated building. Large selection of smoked dishes. I had a smoked pulled pork plate. Lots of food, and quite reasonable prices. Only complaint was it seemed overly greasy somehow? My colleagues had the prime rib sandwiches; which they gave high marks as well. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

I love eating at Uncle Gus’s BBQ. Every year when I visit Tennessee, I make Uncle Gus’s one of my go-to visits! The atmosphere is incredible, with all the antique and vintage relics hanging from the walls and ceiling. I enjoy looking at all that history. The people are very friendly, the staff are amazing! Our waitress was very kind and friendly! The food is amazing! I got the 2 meat dinner with ribs and brisket. Comes with 2 sides of your choice plus a roll. The portions are generous. My wife got the smoked chicken salad and it was delicious! If you’re in Ten Mile, Tennessee, you absolutely have to try this place!

Enjoyed our visit. Server was friendly and professional. The place is loaded with random relics of the past. I wanted to try several things on the menu so I’ll have to go back although it’s way off the beaten path for me. We had the pulled pork barbecue plate which came with two sides. Price was about $12.50 and it was generous portions. We also had the Prime Rib sandwich with one side for around $10.50. The sandwich was a bit smaller than I had hoped but it’s prime rib. It was tender and served with Au jus which was good but unneeded. I want to try the Uncle Gus Burger ($8.99) and the 10 count smoked wings for $10.99. If you find yourself in Ten Mile TN or Meigs County area it’s very much worth the stop. Please hit the like!
