It’s a homey divey little spot with affordable, good food. The burger was awesome – juicy cheesy and a soft bun. I got a Chicago dog and the Hot Lydia. The Chicago dog was good but the tomatoes were not so fresh. The link in the hot Lydia was very salty but not too spicy. The cheese curds were kinda burned but they still served them to us. The fryer oil was way too hot, you could hear it each time the cook dropped something, a ferociously loud crackle and pop. Turn that heat down and cook the frozen fries cheese curds etc a little less hard. The chocolate malt was delicious. Nothing super special here overall, but I can see how it’s a fave because you can’t really get Chicago dogs elsewhere in the area.

This place is what you call a hidden gem. Came to Minneapolis on business, an old friend recommended this tiny restaurant. I don’t think much has changed there since the 60s. It’s great. Burgers, dogs, Italian sausages…. All delicious. I’m not talking about diner food here. It’s more like a high-end delicatessen. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with worn and vintage feel. I suppose in decades gone by that most towns had a great little place like this, but today these types of experiences are few. If you enjoy having a meal at a place with good people and lots of character…. Enjoy.

Awesome cheese curds. House made marinara. Authentic Philly, wit whiz. Best Chicago dog this far north.
Name one other place where you can get fresh marinara to order cooked right in front of you!
Great customer service!

Went with 4 of my coworkers on lunch break. I got the uncle franky’s dog, the geo dog and pink lemonade. SO YUM! Such good energy in there, person at the counter who took our orders was super sweet and inviting. Definitely will be back!

Little hole in the wall with killer hot dogs. They seem a bit pricey at first glance but they’re big, well cooked and loaded with ingredients. The Chicago dog was a standout with a nice hit of spice from the pepper. The polish dog with mustard, kraut and onions was also a favourite. Only downside is that there aren’t many vegetarian options – would love to see a veggie dog alternative.

This is definitely NOT you average hot dog place.
This is way past that. This is your:
10 napkin
Fork and knife
DEFINITELY NOT DATE NIGHT APPROPRIATE
Messy
Delicious
Even God doesn’t care what you look like when eating it kinda place!!!!!
Its small but it has something for everyone.
If you’re a Chicago dog purist they’re on point.
NE polish dog? They got that too.
Carolina slaw dog ( my favorite ) enjoy!
You can even make your own your own invention. They also have burgers and fries too.
Prices are SUPER REASONABLE. And the staff is great. Legends in NE MINNEAPOLIS. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Classic hole in the wall in NE. Got food pretty quickly as it wasn’t super packed and was pretty happy with what we ordered. Tried the Windy City burger and uncle frankys polish dog and they were both delicious. Honestly I didn’t find the food to be anything special but the atmosphere and prices were excellent. Always happy to support places like this in the area.

So ive actually never been, yet, but while talking to my good friend Conrad on the phone while he dined here, he couldn’t put into words how good the chicago dog was. Being from Illinois im rather familiar with a good chicago dog, and I can genuinely tell by someone’s reaction as to whether or not it is indeed a delicious chicago dog. I will for sure be making a special trip to the twin city metro area to experience Frankys in person, god bless
