I had an amazing time at omo restaurant. The food was delectable. You honestly can’t go wrong. I would highly recommend the lamb tortellini. The sauce is amazing and each bite is filled with cheesy Italian perfection. I also learned that all the pasta is fresh and made in-house daily. they have a small cocktail selection, but also includes a bar on site so I’m sure you can get any mixed drink of your liking. Highly recommend for those Italian food lovers or just anyone who’s looking for a nice meal with some good vibes in the heart of downtown Chicago.

Me and my friends had a great time at UMMO. Our waiters and servers were nice in such a warm atmosphere. I tried the cacio e pepe and ordered the carbonara. The mafaldine cacio e pepe was in a thick peppery white pecorino sauce; however, the carbonara I ordered was well seasoned and left a kick of spice and savory pecorino romano. There also wasn’t as much sauce.

The place is super cute inside and the service was really good. We’re vegetarians, so we tried a few of the pasta dishes. Cacio e Pepe, Pomodoro y Basilico, and the Butternut Squash Ravioli (without the prosciutto powder). They were all decent, just not as flavorful or spicy as we were hoping for. Glad we tried it, but probably wouldn’t go back for the food. The desserts looked good so would come back to try those

I had great dining experience at Ummo! The warm bread with truffle butter was absolutely addictive, rich and aromatic. Pasta was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The highlight? Their tiramisu shaped like a coffee bean both beautiful and delicious. A beautiful spot full of arts and cozy. Overall, a fantastic meal with thoughtful presentation and great service. Highly recommend!

Very disappointed with the food. We ordered five different dishes and only liked one. My dish was extremely salty, and the only dish that we enjoyed was a simple cacio e pepe pasta. Unfortunately, we ended up here because we couldn’t get reservations elsewhere. I’m giving two stars only because the service and atmosphere were decent.

Absolutely love this restaurant! Came here for the first time today and for a special occasion (my birthday). Everything was absolutely amazing, well presented, and prepared. Our Waiter, Alex C., gave us a break down of everything, recommended some favorites, and constantly checked in. I was very shy but he definitely made me feel comfortable. We’ll have to visit again! Absolutely LOVED UMMO. It was my first visit to Chicago and this restaurant alone made me want to come back just to eat. Letti/Leti was absolutely incredible. She was an amazing server and made the experience 10x better. I’d go back just for her. She’s so sweet, great with recommendations and a true story teller. She made me appreciate the restaurant far past the food just by her telling us the restaurants’ origin story. As a Latina, I really appreciated the undeniable Mexican culture infused in the Italian cuisine. It was a perfect blend & I can’t wait to go back! — also excited to give their sister restaurant a try.

Wonderful service by Emeliano. Food is delightful form the cocktails all the way to the deserts. Emiliano not served us as a bartender but as our waiter and had the best suggestions for every dish. My first and not last time here in Chicago to come back and visit Ummo.
