Fresh sushi! I feel the fish to rice ratio on the nigiri is perfect, with not too much rice! I went with the Premium option for AYCE, for only $10 more. I feel it was well worth it!

First time here, we had the ayce, service was fine and we got checked in on plenty for additional orders. Rice was kind of sticky and tough not very soft and while the first course of orders were fine additional orders started to degrade, at one point The smoked salmon nigiri was so dang salty it was jarring and nearly inedible. I also had the miso soup, the first order was great but the second also seemed to be heavily salted for some reason. Also every nigiri dish served came with slices of lemon which overpowered whatever they touched.

One of my favorite AYCE spots in Sacramento for nigiri. They have perfect cuts of salmon EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is THE spot. Very little rice on each piece of nigiri which is hard to find these days. The fish is always fresh and appealing. The service is unmatched, they are always coming around to check on you, never pushy, always kind and welcoming. I come here every week and have never had a remotely bad experience. The owner is really nice as well and will work alongside his staff. Their premium menu is definitely worth trying as well, offering sashimi and other limited premium items. This is a must go to spot for all AYCE lovers!!!

Freshest aquadic taste i have found, the chefs here carryout, in my opinion, and execute the most flavorable recipies designed and led by owner, Sunny. Amazing atmosphere and family friendly, as well as actual adult conversation. Would eat here 7 fays s week if i could. Start off with a “Pink Lady” and go from there.

First time here for lunch, and it was a good experience. Party of 2, and we selected the premium ayce. We witted with the premium items and most had an option for nigiri or sashimi. We opted for the sashimi version, and after eating most of the premium items, we were pretty full, but it was still worth the price. Fish was flavorful without smelling or tasty too fishy, which is a good sign of the quantity they use.

Will be back again as there were other items we would like to try.

First off, let’s start by saying Umi Sushi is HANDS DOWN better than Pier 50 and It’s Sushi! While the AYCE concept is similar at all three places, Umi Sushi offers a much wider selection for premium orders. As a nigiri enthusiast, I ordered more nigiri than sushi rolls, and I was thrilled with the offerings. The bluefin toro, salmon toro, hamachi toro, amaebi, and uni were incredibly fresh and flavorful.

I was especially pleased to find the bluefin toro hand roll on the menu, which allowed for even more ways to enjoy their premium selections. The variety truly enhances the experience of indulging in high-quality sushi.

The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. Overall, Umi Sushi delivers a fantastic dining experience that outshines its competitors. I can’t recommend it enough!
Shared a few photos of our orders we had for dinner.
They had other stuff you can order too beside sushi but I went there mainly for sushi.

Was initially turned off by the ayce price of $38 for regular and $48 for the premium ayce, but still opted for the later option.

I was greeted warmly at the door with smiling servers that immediately brought water and tea when asked. We ordered almost exclusively from the premium menu, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and how good every was presented and tasted.

Highlights: all the toros. (There were some intramuscular tendons that we had to pick out, but everything else melted.
Sashimi platter. It was great not needing to eat rice like nigiri’s.
Kbbq short rib- extremely soft, tender, and delicious.
Tempura- light and tasty. Too much batter on the shrimp.
Hamachi kama- grilled perfectly soft and moist.
Ice cream mochi. Great way to end the meal.

Lowlights: uni. It was bitter and nasty. There was no effort to replace it or remedy it. Very disappointing since that was one of my favorite things to eat.

Overall, I would recommend this place and would love to come back.

Side note: if you order the premium menu in the correct order, you can make it like an omakase. With the quality of fish, it would be extremely worth it.

So my family and I came here on a Monday holiday and the place was packed. The food was really good, however, they kept forgetting our orders and the service was really slow. I know, I know, I should’ve expected this coming on a holiday so that’s why I still gave them 4 stars.

We got the premium menu which included the tuna toro along with the other toros but they kept forgetting it and it didn’t come out until the very end. I was so disappointed because I was already full at this point. The sashimi is fresh and the salmon sashimi, especially, was delicious. I will definitely come back again but not on a weekend or a holiday, of course.

A very good place to eat in town If you like Japanese food
this is it, the restaurant to go

They also offer all-you-can-eat buffet style, if you or your group can eat a lot, this is definitely worth a try You can order anything from the sashimi bar I want to try this too by my group have kids and ladies who don’t eat a lot (so next time for sure!).

The place is a bit crowded. Sometimes, you will have to wait to get seated ⏱ because this place is quite popular in my opinion. Overall service is good, nothing else to complain

We came around 6pm wanting to try that AYCE – premium. The food was pretty good. The sushi baked was a little bit sweeter to our liking, the legalized unagi & potato croquette were very bland. Sashimi and toros were delicious. Out of everything, we love the fresh oysters (sauce was amazing!) and the spicy garlic edamame the most!
The service was great, they were very busy and it seem a bit under staffed so I understand. I see my waiter answering phone calls, and at one time he was behind the kitchen rolling sushi! Ha ha! So I completely understand, keep up the work.
Overall we like it, pricing is not too bad and we were both super full at the end.
