French dip was delicious! I would have toasted the bread, but it was delicious still. I’m used to more pickles in my homemade potato salad, the chef used less. Potato salad was still homemade and great! When we got there the only or that was ready was the chocolate pie. The waitress asked the chef when the HOMEMADE APPLE PIE could be cut, she cut it early just for us. As a cook myself, I appreciate the effort that goes into making something from scratch. Was it what I was used to… No. Was it the best ever? No. Was it made with love and care? YES! Was it served with the comfort of the customer in mind? You betcha. You’re supposed to take a minute and enjoy a small town cafe. Slow down, take a breath and enjoy the stillness of Hulett ❤️

Good food. I had grilled chicken. It took a reasonable time to get the food. The waitress forgot my drink, but I didn’t need it after all. She never came back to ask how the food was after we asked for condiments. Also, we were at the register first to check out, but for some reason the lady waited on another person first! Puzzling.

Giving three stars because pizza was the best I ever had! However, waitress was the owner and she never checked on us one time! Read above because the French dip is inedible! So gross! Sign says homemade pie and there was none.

Ate lunch here after the Devil’s Tower. Waitress was horrible and rude. Asked for separate checks(2 couples) and she immediately seemed put out by this and slammed her order pad on the table. Other couple was finished eating before we received our food. All I ordered was vegetables and an appetizer. Macaroni and cheese was probably out of a Kraft box and other veggies out of a can, very disappointing. We were about 95% through with lunch and the appetizer of fried cheese sticks had not been served. I canceled my order on the appetizer, because we were traveling, and the surly waitress still tried to serve them after we were finished with the meal. I refused them. When at the counter to pay our check, the same waitress took the other couples money and settled up but when I tried to pay she decides to go bus a table before taking my payment and there were plenty of tables available to seat other diners. Do not eat here. Rudest service I have ever encountered. Food was not great.

We decided to grab lunch in Hulett to meet up with some family. We finally decided on The Hitchin Post to grab lunch. It looked like a cute old town feel, but the service was barely any. There was only one other table in the restaurant that was taken when we got there at 3:45. We sat there for a while before they even came over to take our drink order which was only three waters. The menu looked simple so our table decided on two deluxe hamburgers and fries and steak fingers and fries. You can go to the local store and get frozen bag of hamburger patties and a bag of store brand fries to include frozen steak fingers. There was NO seasoning at all on anything! Add some seasoning salt and pepper at home and you would have a better meal at home! Don’t waste your money here or your time. Service there was horrible.

Stopped by for breakfast this morning. Was not a good choice food was bad (how any place can ruin eggs and potatoes with toast) this place can. We live locally and will definitely not be stopping by again. It took over 45 minutes to get the food. And there was only 3 other tables occupied. Service was not good either.

This is probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Started with waiting over an hour for our pizza that was burnt. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the waitress disappeared for over 20 minutes It was so dirty that we should’ve just got up and walked out, but the selections are very few. She came to check us out with a rag in her hand that was covered in multiple stains that were old and dried up. Her hands were dirty the kitchen area was disgusting horrible horrible horrible

My husband, 6 year old son, and I ate here at 3:00 on Memorial Day Sunday. We were the only customers there but every table was dirty and had dirty glasses and plates on it. No tables were ever cleared, cleaned, or even wiped off while we were there. We had to shove the dirty stuff over. We got a grilled cheese, chicken strips, steak strips, a soda, and asked for a thick chocolate shake that arrived the consistency of chocolate milk-undrinkable. The bill was $27.03. No one cane to see if everything was,ok, no one brought us napkins or silverware, no one came to wipe ul our spilled water, my husband had to ask for a paper towel and they gave him a towel to clean up himself, even though there wasn’t a soul on there but us. This might have been the worst dining experience I’ve ever had, and it was certainly the most expensive. I would eat dirt before I went there again.
