Thursday dinnertime, was pretty quiet, immediately got a seat and ordered, food came a few minutes later. Bento box with beef, tempura, California roll and fried rice. The egg rolls were extraordinary – crispy on the outside, soft in the center. The rest was delicious and the service was excellent. A nice dining experience on the slightly pricier side of things, because I ordered outside of the lunch menu time but that was on me. Still high quality and I would recommend, and visit again.

Had a great dinner this evening with our family friends that recommend this restaurant. We were able to walk in and get a table. We were a party of six. We started with edamame and two sushi rolls of Jane and spicy tuna. Wished the spicy tuna was a little more spicy. Up next were chicken teriyaki bento box, veg and shrimp tempura dinner and kids chicken tempura. All the food was very good just wished better vegetables options like broccoli instead of two green beans. Overall very good and excited to share the positive review.

This is absolutely one of my favorite places! I have been coming here for years with my friends and have yet to have a bad experience. Their sushi is some of the best in the Nashville area, and absolutely hands down the best value for money sushi wise. The staff at UMI is very friendly, and very helpful. If you are looking for a bigger meal, any of the bento boxes are a solid choice. Highly recommend!!

Clean and cozy. Server was friendly and attentive. Food was great. We had the bento lunch boxes. One of the few places where the miso soup was hot and had tofu in it. Parking can be a bit of an issue, unless you don’t mind a short walk. We will definitely return.

Typically I love trying up new things but because the Mexican restaurant next door was full we gave this a try and unfortunately I had high hopes and that is what betrayed me lol
I am not sure if yall would agree with me and you might think it’s great, that’s totally fine give it a go. The place was crowded and we had to wait 15 min to get seated and another 15 min just to take our order. I also felt the food was bland and with no different from any other place, nothing special but yet a bit pricey.
Would I come back? Probably not but I hope it can improve from here on now.

So would not recomment this place. The food was subpar. Edible but not really japanese. Sushi was good for the price. The teryaki dish was horrible. It was boiled chicken and steam veggies. Service was the worst part of the experience. Very reactive to our ask. Not friendly at all. The best i can recommend is sushi to go.

Great place! I love to come here for lunch when I want to treat myself. I personally get a Bento box and it is a wonderful variety of so many things they have to offer. My friends get sushi and fried rice. It’s all so good! Server was friendly and attentive. Refilled my water glass without being asked. I will return soon and try some different sushi next time.

I don’t normally do sushi takeout of any kind, but I was very impressed with this. It was delicious, and I bet it’s even better in house. Had a super long wait after putting in my takeout order, and their prices are definitely on the higher end. So keep that in mind. Overall though, not bad.

Had some great sushi here the other day with my daughter. My roll, which I expected to be spicy, actually was! Everything we ate was delicious and I will be back. Service was great and quick!

Came for the first time in the middle of dinner rush. (Edit: Been back dozens of times since…) I’m (Edit: still) impressed. Perfectly cooked sushi rice. Fresh tasting and beautifully prepared. Even the fried rice was well seasoned, hand cut fresh vegetables, and cooked well. Met and interacted with the owner. She’s spunky, but you can tell she has a passion for her restaurant. Can’t wait to come back (Edit: again and again). Highly recommend.
