Aside from that..
I had a great experience at Umi Seafood Buffet and chose to celebrate my birthday here with my family.
We came as a table of 10, and everything from start to finish was smooth and enjoyable.
The host, a young male, was very kind and accommodating, which made arriving with a large group easy and stress-free. Our server — a friendly woman with short hair — was especially great: attentive, efficient, and welcoming without being overbearing. She handled our table really well and made sure everything stayed on track.
The restaurant itself is very easy to navigate and self-explanatory, which I appreciated. Everything was clearly laid out, accessible, and simple to move through, even with a big group. The space felt comfortable and relaxed, making it a great place for a family outing or celebration.
Overall, the experience was fun, smooth, and well-organized. I left feeling happy and well taken care of, and I’d definitely return.
One thing to note: many of the buffet items aren’t labeled, so it can be hard to tell exactly what you’re picking up. Also, not every tray has its own serving tongs, so sometimes you have to borrow from another dish. That could be a downside if you have food allergies or strict dietary preferences.
The atmosphere is really cool — lots of Asian-themed decor and calming music that makes the space feel relaxed rather than chaotic. The restaurant and bathrooms were both clean, which I always appreciate.
Service was adequate. The staff were polite, just not especially warm or chatty. They charge a 12% service fee and tips are not expected.
It is on the pricier side (and even more expensive during dinner and weekends), but honestly, I think it’s worth it for the amount of selection and quality. If you want to try it at a lower price point, I’d recommend going during weekday lunch first.
And side note: they include unlimited boba tea with the buffet, which is kind of amazing. At other places, that alone can cost close to $10 each. Here, it’s included — and yes, I had multiple.
Overall, I’d come back. If you go in knowing what to expect price-wise, it’s a fun experience with a lot of options.
**Now I decided to add this part in but just know it’s not part of the buffet food.** They had this Facebook promotional event where they’ll ask you to post their flyer on your Facebook page and each person who post will get steak and lobster for free. They didn’t seem to be opening advertising it in the restaurant, seems to be an ask to know basis. We only found out about it after another table personally told/show us. Now, that was fun and all, steak was good but lobster was RAW. We notified the server, he told us to cook the lobster in the hot pot broth if we need it more cooked. Not the response we expected but it’s free so I won’t complain. I figured these would be helpful for others to know.
They have fresh seafood, sashimi, sushi, hot pot, fried rice, and so many options to choose from.
The seafood tastes super fresh and high quality — you can tell right away when you take the first bite. The sashimi and sushi are delicious, and the hot pot broth has a lot of flavor. ✨ The fried rice is also really tasty and pairs well with everything.
The place is clean, service is fast, and the food comes out quickly. ✅
Perfect restaurant for family, friends, or group hangouts — you will leave full and happy.
Cons:
*Once it become popular on Tik-Tok the waiting lines were out the door, literally. 45-120 min waits are not too uncommon and are to be expected on any days that the kids are out of school for a holiday
*Dinner pricing on any holidays even if it’s not a federal holiday
*Buffet tables are wiped out from the lunch rush. Good luck finding the sushi you might want unless you get in before 11:30am or go after 2pm
*Rarely ever see eel/nigiri anymore
*Servers have gotten lazy ever since they implemented the service fee and stopped tipping (I waited 15+ minutes for my hot pot and had to remind her because she forgot)
Pros:
*If you get in there on a normal weekday without the rush, it’s great.
*Braised pork belly is great, but I recommend saving for last as the fat will fill you up fast
*Seafood, sushi, sashimi, Chinese, ramen, hotpot, and a pretty decent variety of desserts and drinks – no complaints
*Don’t expect Yosaku level sushi, but it’s still quite decent for a buffet.
*Servers are friendly. Even if slow, they come around with a smile on their face and I’ve never been faced with an attitude
