If you are looking for a tasty meal, top tier service, and a great experience, this is the place. I have dined here many times and I can only say positive things. This is the best hibachi place I’ve visited and doesn’t compare to anywhere else.The staff is super friendly and efficient. Servers really go above and beyond to give you an incredible dining experience. If you are ever in Indiana you have to stop at Umi!
Recommendations:
Starters: gyoza, crab rangoon, edamame and the crab volcano.
Sushi: Spicy tuna roll, Summer roll, crazy roll and sweet potato roll (if you are not a fish fan)
Entrees: Chicken hibachi, Filet mignon hibachi, and chicken yakisoba.
(You have to try the clear soup)
Dessert: Fried cheesecake and mochi ice cream.
Drinks: Piña colada, the strawberry daiquiri and their mojito. However, they have a very large drink menu and always have drink specials depending on the season.
I also had my graduation dinner earlier this year with my family. Daniel was very kind and took great care of me and my family. 🙂

I had such a fantastic dinner at Umi Hibachi in Indiana! I started with the crab rangoons, which were perfectly crispy and hit the spot. The Crocodile Roll was a fantastic (as usual) —super fresh and unique. For my main, the steak and shrimp hibachi was cooked exactly how I like it (steak medium-rare, shrimp perfectly grilled). Combined, the meats and vegetables were tender and full of that savory umami flavor. The portions were large, the atmosphere was great. My wife loves Umi, so we will definitely be heading back again soon.

Great time and great food. Between my son and his girlfriend and me along with my girlfriend we went through 12 rolls. They have a buy one get one 50% promotion on Sunday all day. We only paid about $120 for all those. We got a mix of basic ones to fancy ones.
The waiter was great and the rolls came out quickly after we ordered. Our drinks were refilled quickly too.

The show was great and the food was also! My only complaint is that I watched him give 2 other people lots of shrimp while only giving me 3, THREE. And when I asked him and the server why I only got 3, they said it was because I ordered chicken and shrimp. Long story short, it was gonna cost me another $7-ish to get an undetermined number of shrimp. Thankfully one of the ladies with me shared some of her million shrimp with me. I also had a strawberry mojito, suggested by the server, and it was great!!

Amazing hibachi food. Visiting Indiana for my sister’s graduation from IUP, and we did a family lunch at Umi to celebrate. If you happen to go for lunch, the pricing for sushi and meals cannot be beat! Very nice staff, very clean, and very delicious. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

I just got back from umi in indiana. When i was there everything was fine meal was cooked good untill i got my plate and ask for yum yum sauce thinking i would get more in the cup they give you and the person cooking the meal flooded my plate with yum yum sauce to the point where i dont even want to eat anymore i brought it up to the manager i believe and showed them and asked for a discount or something and they gave me 6$ off my meal so unprofessional my plate was still full a few bites taken from the plate that was it i felt uncomfortable and disrespected by the chef i will never be going back the chef seemed mad when i asked like as if i did something wrong im paying for the meal so dont you think my needs should matter anyways i payed for everything and just left but figured i would leave a review and let everone know .

The menu was similar to any other hibachi restaurants I’ve been to but I felt the quality was subpar while being around the same price range. They also put a lot of sauce of the ingredients in the hibachi which I didnt prefer. Service was slow and they seemed understaffed. The staff were nice when they did come around though. It was pretty packed for a Tuesday night on a cold winter night so I guess others enjoy the place more than I did. I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you really want hibachi as this is apparently the only show in town.

This place does NOT disappoint! The sushi is good but the hibachi is incredible!! Definitely one of the top ten places to eat within an hours drive. Plenty of parking as well as seating.
