The experience felt unnecessarily rude. There are no clear directions, yet staff seemed irritated when customers stood in the “wrong” line. I understand that there may be specific protocols, but it’s reasonable for someone to assume they can order sides at the bar—especially when a staff member is standing there holding a large menu overhead. When customers are unsure, a little patience or polite guidance goes a long way; people simply don’t know unless they’re told.
What stood out most was seeing customers being reprimanded to eat quickly and leave. While I understand space constraints, saying things like, “If you are sitting, we need to see you eating your food,” comes across as unnecessarily impolite and unwelcoming.
Overall, the lack of customer orientation was disappointing, especially on an island that depends so heavily on tourism.

I stopped eating here on my way to the mainland because the place used to feel so unwelcoming — the customer service was pretty rude.
But I decided to give it another try recently (mostly because I was starving), and wow, what a surprise! They got a new casher, super friendly, had a great smile, and made the whole place feel completely different. For a moment, I thought I’d walked into the wrong restaurant!
What a great change. With this kind of friendly service, I actually feel good spending my money here again.

Good teriyaki chicken the chicken was well cooked flavors were good. The bowl fries were unique just wasn’t a big fan of the thicker fried cut, but I think if you like a lot of potato, you might really enjoy this style of french fry. The servers were friendly and attentive. the food came out quick and hot. I just wasn’t a big fan of the overall taste of the food but good since I didn’t have to leave the airport although if I had a longer layover, I would’ve taken a Lyft or an Uber and gone to one of the cafés that were pretty close by.

Freshest IPA I’ve ever had and this place isnt even a brewery! I came by at 0800 during a three hour layover for a couple beers.

I tried the Lau Lau (pork slow cooked in taro leaves). The portion size was generous, and it was served warm, which I appreciated. The taste was decent. Slightly more expensive for the dish but it’s an airport restaurant so no surprise.

Very good food, especially for airport food! We got the garlic furikake chicken, and the loco moco, and both were very good. Both were very flavorful and had big portions!
And the staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. Really, there were no complaints!! Also, note that they do have grab and go foods in a fridge on the side, which you can’t see right away.

Airport poke. Who knew?? Our morning flight to the island ran out of food options, so we were starving by the time we arrived in the afternoon. We got the spicy ahi, seaweed salad, mac salad, and cucumber kimchi on the side. It was so fresh and delicious!! It was so good that we had it again right before we departed.
Noticed some tourists were not very kind. Remember to treat the staff like people, even if you’re in a bit of a rush.

Great local food at plane. Enjoyed great poke spicy, garlic chicken and katsu. And the fries were thick and curly/ wish I could have brought some home!

The poke is excellent. The spicy one has a nice kick. As mentioned by other reviewers the service definitely could use the aloha derive with a smile.
Come enjoy the food, have a nice Kona draft beer and enjoy the air conditioning. Then have a safe flight to your next destination.
