Our first time eating here. We are new to the area and we love love Japanese food. To our surprise, the pork Katsu was dry. My husband got sashimi and the fish was not fresh. Tempura combo was ok but the salmon was dry as well and the serving size was really small. The service was excellent though and the atmosphere was fantastic. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back to eat here.

Their new Happy Hour is amazing!! Sake cocktails (I was dubious) were really wonderful. So wonderful I had 3! And the appetizers will make both sushi and non sushi lovers happy! Lovely patio and warm service.

This place has been my sushi sanctuary for years. I order the same roll (Lady in Red) 90% of the time because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it—and once again, it did not disappoint. Always fresh, always delicious, and always worth it.
Also, their Happy Hour (4:30–6:00) draws a crowd, and for good reason. Three big groups were already on it while I was there. If you haven’t hit up Umé yet, treat yourself—it’s worth the trip!

Small little restaurant with big menu of offerings.
We loved that the restaurant is practically divided in half with one side brightly lit with families and the other dimly lit with couples. Made for an easier, more pleasant dining experience. Our server was very good in making recommendations and filling our order quickly.
Our group enjoyed a bottle of sake, sukiyaki, hamachi kama, vegetarian rolls, miso soup, and steak teriyaki. Everything was in good portions and well prepared. Mochi and ice cream with bananas ended the meal well.
We would definitely recommend eating here.

Ume Japanese Bistro is an amazing restaurant. We have only eaten here for dinner or gotten food to go, although they are open for lunch as well. There is a decent amount of parking, which is nice as well.
The food is delicious and I personally love that they have vegetarian options as well as a lot of amazing seafood options. I often get the Vegetarian Sushi Plate and it is very flavorful. I have tried several different things here and have loved everything I have tried.
The service is excellent and it’s a warm and inviting place to relax and enjoy an amazing meal! Everyone that works here is very friendly and helpful.
If you are in Windsor, this is an excellent place to check out. My husband doesn’t eat seafood and there was plenty of non-seafood options as well. We look forward to coming back soon since this is such a great restaurant!

Good sushi and service. I’ve been here maybe five times. A few times with my boyfriend. He enjoyed the food too. Last time on a birthday work lunch for a co-worker. Everyone was happy. Nice find for a Japanese restaurant along Old Redwood Hwy if you are in Windsor area

This is the best sushi spot in Sonoma county. They’re on the higher end on pricing, but it’s definitely worth it!
The sushi is made perfectly, and the sauces are all home made. Even the tofu deserves recognition, it’s that good.

The stars above tell the story. Our order tonight for dinner was simple. But it was great. We tried the Dark side of the Moon roll, and the Hamachi Kama. Both were very good and presented nicely. And the house Ponzu sauce ,was the best ever. And the hospitality was very gracious.
