Unami Sushi in Cloverdale was excellent. The Mexican Roll was great, and the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls were packed with flavor and a lot of protein. Everything tasted fresh and well made. Excellent job — will definitely be back soon to try the bowls!

I ordered 4 party trays for a staff event and the platters were all ready (order placed 1hr 15mins prior to requested pickup time). The presentation was great and was delicious! The people seemed really nice as well.

Enjoyed the dinner box at Umami – very tasty! It’s my go to dish when visiting umami. The service was good and the food was delicious. Even though it is lunch, I will order the dinner box. My buddy had some spicy rolls for his lunch that he really enjoyed.

I ordered some takeout on a Sunday night and it was delicious!! I highly recommend the house roll (on the right) ! So full! And the BC roll (on the left) was very yummy as well, chocolate, full of salmon with a decent amount of meat on the skin still 🙂 very fresh and yummy!

Wow. How awful! Came here with friends to celebrate and it really ruined the mood. First off, service was so slow and poor. The restaurant was pretty empty, so we were left confused by the poor service. They were constantly bringing the wrong number of utensils and bowls, so we had to ask for more. It took close to an hour for all of our dishes to come out. One person got a sashimi bowl and she said the fish was off. Thankfully, most of it was okay, but she could not bare to finish it. It was pretty obvious that their fish isn’t fresh. Throughout all of this, not a single apology when this was mentioned to the owner. To be fair, she gave my friend a 20% discount, but she kind of gave off this vibe that we were being an inconvenience. One friend ordered a ramen and this took the longest. Yet, what baffled us was the fact that the noodles looked like instant ramen noodles? So, she waited an hour to get a mediocre, not even Japanese, ramen. They should be ashamed to call themselves a Japanese restaurant. Waste of money and time. First and last time I’ll eat from here.

I come here often because sushi is ALWAYS fresh and the owners are so kind! One of best sushi places in Surrey BC! I ordered take out and it’s always ready when they say! I highly recommend coming here if quality and great customer service is a priority! And the portions are great!!

Love getting away for lunch here. Consistently good. There hasn’t been an item that I’ve disliked. Dinner boxes are all worth the order, a little bit of everything. Staff is always so friendly. Clean and quick even when they are busy.

We’ve been coming for to this Cloverdale location years. It is always good, and has never disappointed. Their food is consistently served well, portions are generous, service is always spot on.
On this occasion, tried their Inari (5.50 ea), which was huge, the spicy was actually spicy. We also had a Negitoro roll (6.25), and the Umami Combo (31.95). Very happy with our meal and service!!

Pretty good sushi, both in taste and presentation. It’s a little more expensive than Sushi Shin down the road so that’s something to keep in mind.
The Phoenix Roll was absolutely delicious though and that is one of the cheaper rolls.

Absolutely delicious sushi at the restaurant. Run by a ma and pa couple. Me and my girlfriend came to dine in tonight about 30 mins before close and the staff were so so so kind and welcoming. Best part was the food was good as well. I will be coming back
