Genuinely one of my favorite restaurants in Auburn and have enjoyed at least 30 meals here! All of their fish is incredibly fresh (bent creek roll is my favorite and their tuna in general). If the service isn’t great then your tip will reflect on that. The Hispanic lady was the only server on the floor. She had 4 tables in total when I was dining in. I was evaluating how she was towards everyone and did not get a good vibe from her the get. She was very nice, smiling, having small talk, and laughing with the other customers and I am a person of color so I noted that down. Never once did she have that kind of interaction with my table. Auburn has become so hostile towards people of color now.

Our first time here & it was wonderful. We were seated quickly and our server was very kind. He recommended a few sushi rolls and we ordered the Auburn Firework roll. Our ramen was delicious and was plenty of food. The sushi came out 2 minutes after our ramen and was on fire. The server came by 5 minutes later to properly open the foil for us to eat. Everything was great and service was wonderful.

Came here for the second time and I had better eating experience than the first one. Staffs are sooo friendly and helpful, especially the owner (I think)- he really cares the customers!
I got Takoyaki as appetizer, rice w cheese Tonkatsu, rolls and jjamppong or champon (seafood ramen).
For the champon, you can either choose white or red soup and select the spicy level that you can handle. For me, medium is good so far. Although I saw Pork leg (jokbal) is offered on Thursdays, I still asked and luckily I had a chance to try this dish. Really delicious! Tender and juicy meat, good proportion for 2-3 people but a bit pricy.
I enjoy this meal! Recommend the jokbal and spicy jjampong

As a long time Michelin chef, coming to Auburn was a change of pace for my meals because the food here has been extremely hit or miss. However this Ramen is the best in Auburn, hands down, without a doubt. The sushi was outstanding as well but the ramen was the star of the show. I’m not sure why places here can’t quite nail a good bowl of ramen but Umami has done it and done it well.

The food was average compared to other places. But the worst part was the rude Korean woman who seemed to be the owner — she completely ruined the experience. Her attitude was so unpleasant that I lost my appetite. I’m never coming back, and if I could give negative stars, I would, just because of her.
