Jun Feng was such a kind and hospitable hostess : Patiently answering my questions about the menu and helpful accommodating my dietary restrictions.
I truly enjoyed my meal and the ambience
I had been craving some scallion pancakes, and I must say these were worth it. Savory and crispy.
+ I get why the String beans with garlic are a bestseller. Yummy!
I was pleasantly surprised that the chili oil wasn’t too spicy.
Oh, you gotta add some to the sauce that comes with the spring rolls

This place has gone downhill. The soup dumplings used to be so good when they first opened but now they are shriveled dough wrapped around meat that does not represent chicken. The cucumber salad is not good anymore.. mushy cucumbers with no flavor. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice have not been cleaned properly

I seldom leave negative reviews, but it is more than warranted here. About two months ago, my partner got salt and pepper chicken from here. He asked me to taste it and it was absolutely delicious. Tender, moist, and cooked just right (not too hard or soft). We went to see a movie at the Regal this afternoon, and when it was out I went down to Ugly Dumpling to get some of the same dish. Paid, was told it would be a 5-minute wait, and about 3 minutes later the cashier walked over to the table where I waited with the bag…the attached photo is what I received.
There is no way the food they gave me was not old and sitting out all day. It was so overcooked that it was as hard as rocks — to the point I couldn’t even chew one piece I tried for fear I’d damage a tooth. It had to be because I’d ordered it to-go and they knew it wouldn’t be opened until I was long gone. There is NO way I would have been served this if I’d have dined in. Again, this was 100% old food — it even tasted as such.
I cannot believe this is from the same place as two months ago. Over $12 for chicken and rice, and the only thing edible was the rice. And I said “edible” because the rice was undercooked. If they were out of the chicken they should have just said that, but they chose to give me whatever they had laying around. Now I’m sitting here hoping the two bites I had don’t make me sick from food poisoning. It has been a LONG time since I had food that nasty!
Update: I emailed the owner(s) 4 times since I left the review, and have not been contacted. Bad enough they could have given me food poisoning, but not even a courtesy apology? Yeah. I won’t be back. Service and food like this is why Frederick is the second largest city in Maryland, but has the least amenities and worst restaurants — the latest, newfangled place opens, standards go downhill in short order, and they close.

We stopped in here after an appointment in the shopping center, and I truly wish we hadn’t as it was a total waste of time and money. I’m sad because I LOVE dumplings and was excited for a kind of “fast” option.
We walked in to the place around 4:30, it was completely empty and no one was at the counter. I should have realized this was a red flag.
We ordered from the kiosk and about 5 minutes later a girl came out of the back and made our drinks. I ordered mine 0% sugar, but I guess their honey flavoring is really intense and it was so sweet it was undrinkable. I asked the girl who made the drinks, thinking it was a mistake, but she said that’s just how it is.
We got our dumplings to go – the pork and shrimp soup dumplings, crystal shrimp dumplings, and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons are also so sweet it’s off putting. The crystal shrimp dumplings tasted of rotten shrimp and bleach, which carried over to the shrimp in the soup dumplings as well.
It was all so disgusting, we ended up throwing each dish out after tasting and spitting them out. 0/10, I am so grossed out right now and lost my appetite and wasted $45.

This food was absolutely disgusting. Nothing about it was good. It’s was $20 for literal cat food wrapped in mushy dough. The owner should be ashamed of themselves. I can see why it’s called ugly dumpling because nothing about the meal was appetizing. I ordered the soup dumpling combo… the dumpling had NO soup, the meat literally had egg bits in it. What type of dumpling has egg in the meat? The place was empty when we walked in…I can see why. The spring rolls had a crispy outside but then you get to the middle which is just mushy slop. This place needs to be shut down! My friend ordered popcorn chicken and spicy wonton combo and the chicken literally tasted like nutmeg and cinnamon. The wontons were the same as the cat food soup dumplings. If you want expensive cat food…this is the place to go. Other than that you will never ever catch me stepping food in this disgrace of an establishment…

Great food! Had dumplings that word delicious, and orange chicken with fried rice that was also just as good! It’s a walk-in and order at the counter type place so no real table service. No drinks other than your typical fountain drinks. Overall cool place decent price I’ll be back!

For a place geared towards fast Chinese food, the quality is rather good. We ordered the combo with popcorn chicken, spicy wonton and egg rolls, plus a soup dumpling sampler and the taro creme drink. The popcorn chicken is equivalent to Taiwanese fried chicken I’ve gotten at other places but with a more muted five spice and pepper taste. The soup dumplings are what I’d expect and the taro creme tastes a bit like taro milk tea but I think a bit less drink for the cost. They delivered the food pretty quickly and overall we enjoyed it. We’ll visit again.

Tried this place during the first week of their opening and I must say it’s a very cute place. Loved the ambiance. I ordered the chicken soups dumplings, they tasted great but hardly had any soup in them. I also ordered the Brown sugar boba and that was amazing. The boba were fresh.
2nd visit – this time the soup dumplings did not disappoint. Tasted very good. Of course had to order the brown sugar boba. The chicken dumplings were decent.
3rd visit- this time with the fam. We tried some new items, the popcorn chicken which was good. The shrimp stir fried noodles were not great. The soup dumplings were on point.
Will definitely keep coming back for the soup dumplings. Only good ones in Frederick area.

Best popcorn chicken! It’s definitely worth a try.
The food is great, though it has the takeout/fast food style like Panda Express.
Overall, it is a great spot if you are craving some quick Chinese food.

I ordered a brown sugar boba and shrimp dumplings. The brown sugar boba was disgusting . It tasted like way too much milk and sugar. No taste at all. For $7 I expected it to taste like actually brown sugar boba. I asked her to exchange it for a milk tea which technically was cheaper. The attitude that she gave me was as if I asked her something inappropriate. I thanked her after she remade it and still she had such a nasty attitude. The dumplings for $9 were miniature and not worth it. As well the milk tea remake was so bad that I had to throw it out. It had a horrible taste.
