I don’t recall the name of the chicken dish, but it too was excellent! It had a cashew and almond base,
10/10 recommend!!!
Curries, Naan, dahls, tandoori anything….
Clean, bright, friendly.
Good overall food but my Tandor chicken was so overdone it was a brick.
The other items good but light on actual meat.
Lunch special wasn’t so special but you could tell that a real, full dish would be good.
Here’s the Breakdown:
Quality ingredients, friendly service, average lunch special +4 stars.
I would go back for a full meal
Recommended for their delicious and balanced taste.
Service and Ambiance: The staff is described as bit professional, but attentive, and friendly, making for a warm and welcoming dining experience.
The ambiance is often noted as perfect for a pleasant meal .
Cleanliness: restaurant’s cleanliness is with good standards.
While overwhelmingly positive, some reviews have mentioned:
The food here is quite good, especially the mutton curry — though there’s a small issue.
if you mention any problem with it, they tend to remove that dish from your bill, which is nice but also a bit odd.
The service is attentive? .., but if you need salt, make sure to ask at least three times before you actually get it!
The only downside is the sunlight during lunchtime — it can get quite bright, so choosing the right seat makes a big difference for a comfortable dining experience.
Also, if you want to change tables, be prepared to carry all the plates, glasses, and food yourself from one table to another.
Overall:
Ugadi Indian Grill is a recommended spot for anyone seeking delicious and authentic Indian cuisine in Tennessee.
Only downside was I ordered spiciness of 3/5…so next time I’ll up it to 4/5…but always wonderful dining experience.
Vibe: Yeah, it’s in a strip center (lol), but don’t judge a book by its cover. Inside, it’s surprisingly nice — clean, comfortable, and way more inviting than you’d expect from the outside. It had that calm mid-afternoon vibe, perfect for grabbing a quiet meal.
Service: Everyone was super friendly and easygoing. My server made great recommendations, checked in just enough, and had a really nice energy about them. You can tell they care about the experience.
Food & Drink: I went with the Palak Paneer — paneer cooked in creamy spinach with spices — and it was awesome. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and it came loaded with paneer. I ended up getting extra rice just to scoop up every bit of that sauce. Totally hit the spot.
Overall: Great food, great service, and a super chill spot to unwind. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Murfreesboro.

Ugadi Indian Grill
Excellent Indian food in Murfreesboro. The Tandoori Chicken was juicy and perfectly spiced, the naan was fresh and soft, and the mutton soup was rich and comforting. The Mysore Masala Dosa was the standout—crispy, golden, and filled with a spicy, tangy potato mixture.
Friendly service, clean restaurant, and authentic flavors. Highly recommend if you’re searching for great Indian food near you. Will definitely return.
