Udupi Palace Restaurant is a South Indian Vegetarian Restaurant located in the heart of Surrey and we are well known for our service and taste.
Udupi Cuisine is the origin of one of the Top 10 Dishes of the World, the ubiquitous Indian dish masala dosa. Our chefs portrayed their creativity to bring about more than 60 varieties of dosas.
We serve idli, Medu vada, thali with either poori/chapati/rice options. Our soft spongy Idlis, Uthappams and Dosas are complimented with authentic homemade Sambhar which will set a memorable dining experience.

Nice ambience. Food was decent but didn’t meet my taste expectations. I tried couple of things I have had and they were quite different to what we get in Udupi but as long as you are open to trying different tastes, you will be fine.

I had till now idly, dosa and these were good. Proper mixture spread in dosa. Today I tried poori Chana. Poori and curd was good. But the Chana was total bad experience for me. I mean who puts Kari pata and coconut in Chana. It seems like someone mixed gravy of paneer, coconut chutney, Kari pata and Chana.. really bad. But again overall the ambience is good, customer service is good , and food is good. I will give one more try and expect Chana to be actual Indian style and not sweet mix of coconut with white chana. Thanks

This place is perfect for south Indian food. My family visited this place for the first time but it was the best experience we had. Especially shout out for Preeti who helped us to know about specials and choosing their cuisines. Also, she was very very polite and provided us the exceptional service. A very big thanks to her.

We ordered masala dosa, and it was really good. The food was fresh and full of flavor. The environment was pleasant, clean, and comfortable, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a nice place to visit, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

I visit this restaurant almost every week and it’s always a great experience. The dosa is delicious, the Gobi 65 is amazing, and the idlis are so soft! A special shoutout to our server, Yashika, who provided excellent service. One of the best South Indian spots around!

Positively surprised I must say. Wasn’t expecting much looking at the decor of this place, but turned out to be a great spot for South Indian food for us. Taking one star away as the service was slow but I would recommend it. Server was polite as well.

Unbelievable but true- ordered rasam and found a hair in it after eating two spoonsfuls. Went to restroom to throw up and saw the cook didn’t have hairnet mask (restroom and kitchen entrances are infront of each other). That explains! Servers tried their best but seemed very inexperienced. Zero reaction or apology for the hair in food. Expression was like a normal day of business!
I recommended another restaurant (same first name) to a colleague and she told me it’s nothing special than Udupi palace in Newton. Hence went to try today and had this experience. Here the ambience is unwelcoming and crampy, feels gloomy. And the food is nothing interesting compared to my recommended one in Langley. Sambhar here is terrible – just thick lentil with spices. Chutney even worse. Sambhar is the best part and supposed to be the signature of a south Indian restaurant . I would suggest to avoid if you can.

Found this gem of South Indian place in Newton Exchange while walking through.
Tasted their 2 idli and vada combo. Idli was super fresh and sambar was tasty.
I liked their chutney as well.
I always get their vada plate that comes with 3 vadai and chutney.
Uththappam is crispy and given with sambar and chutney.
Then tried Kadai Paneer with Parata and Rice Combo. That was mouth watering and so good in spices.
Sambhar Rice – Tried once, too soggy for me. But good in taste that rice is mixed with lentils and vegetables.
Channa Bhatura aka Poori with Chickpeas curry – one of the best chickpeas curry I have tasted in Greater Vancouver.
In their desserts – Payasam was good. Fresh and Milky.
Their great portion of tea is the best with Cardamom and Cinnamon to end the meal.
