This was really good ice cream. I had a frappe a.k.a. in New England milkshake it was really good. The wait time was a little long. The number is before me and after me got served before we did but that’s OK. They have benches. They have a bathroom next-door at the barbecue place, which is the same property. I assume this is handicap accessible, and they do accept credit cards. You order in one window and they call your number at the other window. There is plenty of parking. We got to the ice cream place walking from the campground behind it. I saw people driving up with their golf carts. Plenty of selection here. It’s probably the nearest milkshake you’ll get to the Bar Harbor campground if that’s what you’re looking for.

We were in Bar Harbor for five nights and were fortunate enough to try Udder Heaven ice cream the first night. We returned EVERY night! The dark chocolate was my favorite, but being the last week of the season it was gone after my first night. BUT I ended up loving the Lemon Gingersnap and Red Raspberry.
We arrived about 15 minutes before closing on the last night of the season and had a great time cutting up with the staff and my “comically large” cone!

We came here twice in our three nights in the area and loved all our choices. We tried the chocolate peanut butter ice cream on a warm chocolate chip cookie first then same ice cream in a waffle cone with cookies pieces and the warm blueberry pie with blueberry cheesecake ice cream. All was delicious.

Three visits in three days. Lives up to it’s name. everyone loved it. Home made waffle cones were terific. Clean large location with ample parking. Tried the wild Maine blueberry in a waffle cone and really enjoyed it. Dark chocolate and cookies & cream were big hits with the kids. Added bonus is directly across the street is an awesome mini golf park. Treat yourself and try this ice cream place.

I had tried this ice cream with pie at a lobster place nearby, so we decided to stop by. I got the regular blueberry ice cream in a waffle cone. The blueberry is a great flavor and love the freshness of it -although the consistency was way too gummy which made it less enjoyable. I got the regular saint size, but probably better to get the next size down if you’re not sharing as personally I could not finish it. I usually like waffle cones, but this one was not as fresh tasting. Service is friendly and there is seating around.

My hubby and I were staying the Bar Harbor Campground next door to Udder Heaven so we stopped one night. It was fantastic and different than what we’ve had before. The great part was they have scoop and soft serve so we were each able to get our faves. I’m a medium twist cone and he had 2 scoops in a waffle cone.
Make sure to check their hours before you stop. We tried a couple more times during our stay but they were closed.

Allergy Friendly (Atleast Mostly)!
That’s a huge deal for people like me with a nut allergy. I definitely understand it’s hard at ice cream shops. Most of the time I will just get soft serve or avoid them entirely. But they have signs up everywhere to ask and they have a procedure to try their best to keep you safe.
The staff is friendly and quick. I appreciate the hell out of them trying to be nut friendly! Thank you so so so much!

Mangle Rice
This shop is really generous with their portions, staff is friendly even before you give the tip, and the ice cream is great. The only slightly negative is that if you eat too much of the peanut butter than drive away, you might get nauseous, but I think that’s just me. ::)
