The manager, Eka, is absolutely great. You can really see how much she cares about the guests and the quality of the place. Everything runs smoothly, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming.
The cocktails are honestly some of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The food was outstanding as well — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. And the desserts? Incredible! The ponchiki is definitely the best dessert on the menu — a must-try!
Overall, everything was amazing — the service, the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere. I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!
A really special place overall. Highly recommend!
Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. We arrived at 6:25 for our 6:30 reservation — after receiving multiple calls from the restaurant reminding us to be on time. Despite that, we waited until 7:00 before even asking to be served, while guests who arrived after us were already being attended to.
We ordered drinks, but only my beer arrived after about 10 minutes. I had to ask three separate times for my girlfriend’s cocktail before it finally came. Our frog legs appetizer didn’t arrive until 8:00, and once we finished, the table wasn’t cleared.
At 8:30, we were told our steaks would be out in 10–12 minutes. They brought me a steak that apparently “wasn’t my order,” and we ultimately ended up with three steaks on the table — two of which were nearly raw. The quality of the food did not make up for the long wait or the confusion.
Overall, the service was very poor, and the food quality was disappointing. Thankfully, it didn’t ruin our Valentine’s Day because we were able to laugh about the experience — but it’s a word of warning to others. It’s such a shame that on such an important night, the restaurant wasn’t able to get it right.
The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff made me feel right at home. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood — can’t wait to return for brunch and dinner!
From the moment you step in, the aroma of simmering spices and fresh herbs wraps around you like a warm embrace. Every dish we tried was a standout, executed with such high quality that it’s hard to pick a favorite. The khinkali—those juicy, broth-filled dumplings—burst with savory perfection, while the khachapuri (the boat-shaped cheese bread) was gooey, tangy bliss topped with a perfectly runny egg. We also devoured the chanakhi stew, tender lamb in a rich tomato-eggplant sauce that melted in our mouths, and the Georgian salad with its creamy walnut dressing added a fresh, crunchy contrast. Paired with a crisp Saperavi wine from their impressive selection, it was pure magic.
Service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, with staff who shared genuine stories about the cuisine (many hail from Georgia themselves). Portions are generous, prices are fair for NYC, and the fusion touches (hello, subtle French elegance in the plating) elevate it without losing that hearty Georgian heart.
If you’re craving innovative yet true-to-roots food in a cozy, date-night-worthy setting, run to Ubani Bistro. It’s not just amazing—it’s unforgettable. Can’t wait to return!
