Very UCity Grill way to close. Lowkey to the very end. I work in loop and go weekly for a cheap meal with protein and fresh veggies.

I was craving authentic Korean food and found this place on a Google search. It had decent reviews, so I took the chance and drove to this establishment. The restaurant is small and situated in the back of the building where all the shopping stores are. The place has no frills and bar style with limited seating area. This is a cash-only place. I ordered two meals, and both were delicious! This place is a hidden gem in STL, and I urge you to check out this place if you want Korean food one day.

This is a CASH only place. Everything on the menu was under $9. I’ve heard of good things about U-city grill from several Korean friends but I somehow forgot about the place. I wanted a quick simple meal for lunch, so my partner suggested to go here. He came here multiple times before COVID but it was my first time. I ordered Bibimbop, and my partner got the combination plate ( rice, beansprout, beef and chicken) with extra meat. He was pleased with the beef but not the chicken. I was satisfied with my bibimbop. Next time I would add extra beef and kimchi. This shop reminded me of food stalls in Japan – tiny area with a few stools, definitely not place for a big party. Also, don’t expect a great customer service. The owner does everything himself and makes the food in front of you so he’s pretty busy. Remember, you’re paying for the food. It’s worth a try if you’re in the area.

Tucked away in a small retro diner, this gem serves homemade Korean cooking. The owner skillfully crafts meals from scratch, creating a show in itself. Don’t expect much in terms of customer service; the solo owner tends to keep to himself. Also, remember to bring cash, as that’s the only form of currency they accept. Despite the lack of service, the affordable prices and authentic flavors make it a must-visit.

Delicious, authentic, and affordable bibimbap! The owner/chef makes everything fresh right in front of you. As is the case with many authentic Asian restaurants, don’t expect much service but the food makes it all worth it.

Small but cute family owned Korean restaurant, food is reasonable priced and delicious! Quick service, too! This place is open since 1988, more than 30 years now!
The guy who works in the store may seems cold on surface, but he is really nice guy if you try to talk to him. This is my place to go whenever I come back to St. Louis.

One of the best value meals in the city. The food is good. He’s there to make you a good meal, not to be nice and entertain you. Don’t take it personally.

Kindest owner. I stopped by today for some takeout and after ordering, ran across the street to find an ATM as I had forgotten cash. With the banks closed, I had trouble getting cash withdrawn, so I went back to the restaurant to explain that I would run home to grab cash then come back to pick up the food.

Instead, he said that I should go ahead and take the meal, and stop by with the money when I could. I tried to turn him down, but he insisted. So I took the food home then brought back the money after finishing the meal–which was fantastic as always.

It speaks volumes when an owner treats their customers with this level of kindness, particularly in a time when small businesses are being hit harder than ever. This restaurant was already a favorite of mine, but now I will be going every chance I get. Thanks again.

U-City Grill is a laid-back place with a small eating area at a bar. I loved their beef bulgogi – so tasty! The prices were good too. Don’t forget to bring cash when you visit. I’m planning to get takeout from them next time!

Incredibly tasty and affordable place! Chef doesn’t talk much but is very nice and filled water’s regularly for us. Some of the cleanest ( light on oil ), tastiest Korean food around. Bring cash and thank me for the recommendation

Food is great, fast, cheap. This bibimbob with bulgogi beef is my favorite. Cash only. Little seating. One employee who does everything, and is very gruff, not really at all friendly. But this hole in the wall is worth your time.
