The fish and bbq were on point but the Mac and cheese was made with very little cheap cheese and was dry the greens were definitely canned as well aa the yams which were definitely Bruce’s canned yams…. Authentic to me means homemade not anything from a can…I would get the meat but in the future stay away from the side because I can spruce up my own canned goods

This place is the best soul food I’ve ever had. Very welcoming atmosphere where you feel like family as soon as you step in. The cooking was unlike anything else I’ve had, it was undeniably delicious. I recommend the jerk chicken with the bbq sauce, the mac n cheese, and the grabbage! I will definitely be visiting this in Philly more often!!

Yo! This place is REALLY GOOD, I’ve tried just about every popular soul food spot in Philly and none of them have anything on Tyemeka’s! The barbecue chicken wings were falling off the bone chile! Mac and cheese was perfectly seasoned it tasted just like the Mac at the cookouts growing up yams were perfect not too sweet and the customer service was on point, I told the lady at the front it was my first time here and she said “And it won’t be your last!” Boy was she right, I’m going back tomorrow LOL! 10/10 highly recommend.

Have you ever walked inside of a restaurant, and you could tell that the food is amazing just by the vibe? I knew it was going to be good, I didn’t expect it to be OUTSTANDING! I am impressed! In addition to the food in the photo, I also got lima beans and rice for my mom. I can’t wait to support this business again!

Great food and portions. Staff were inviting and humble as they know they have great tasting food. I would definitely recommend trying every item in their menu. I have been back there a few times and it was never a disappointment. I would recommend take out so you can relax in comfort at home while you tear it down …LOL. Go try it out!!!

Ordered the large Chicken Platter with Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens and a Fried Fish Sandwich. The Fried Chicken and the Fried Fish was Bussin’. Not to greesy and the seasoning was perfect. The greens tasted like they came from the can and the Mac & cheese was okay. The Owners were nice and showed good customer service. I also ordered their Blueberry drink which taste like kool aid so we added some country thyme to it and took to the next level lol. Overall I rate it a 4.7/10. If you happen to be in the area; you should go check them out!!

This is my was my 1rst time getting the Tyemeka experience….the lady that served me was super-friendly & very informative of all the exclusive items they have…she also told me that I’d be back & once I got home & devoured the platter , all I could do was think about getting more platters …..peep the hefty platter for $16 (Stevie Wonder Isn’t She Lovely) *theme muzik* THIS SPOT IS THE TRUTH 2 THE TASTEBUBS!!!
