The restaurant view is very nice.
The service was a little slow but the manager apologized and made up for it ❤️
The food is excellent. Everything we tried for dinner was delicious!
Breakfast is also good, basic items but good quality.

We walked in to see a beautiful view of Wrangell-St. Elias, but I should’ve known something was up when I looked into the cold, lifeless eyes of our server. Apparently she’s been eating the prime rib too. The saving grace was the flatbread and the potatoes and broccoli, which were all delicious. But the price and atmosphere doesn’t quite match the quality of their angus. Convenient if staying in the lodge, but not worth a detour off the Richardson 🙁

Had the beef tenderloin dinner. Was looking forward to a nice baked potato, got mashed potatoes instead. The asparagus was served cold and very hard to chew. The steak was cooked perfectly. Somewhat on the pricey side for what you got. The meal should have included a salad and bread for the price I paid. The server was excellent.

Ate in bar area. Had the French dip and salmon dinner. Food was delicious, great friendly waiter. All staff working well together. Patrons appeared pleased with meals. Atmosphere nice and relaxing. I will recommend

We sat down for 5:45 pm dinner. The salad was not served till 7 pm which was 75 minutes later. The main course Rockfish with rice pilaf. The rice was undone and raw, which need to cook for another 10+ minutes. I looks like someone who doesn’t know how to cook rice properly
The restaurant management and process flow is at flaws, chaotic and unacceptable.
The chef servers should have a dry run before opening to manage the process flow and time management.We are stuck here for two days and have to put up with the terrible service.
I give no star for service, and only one star for chef for not knowing how to cook rice properly.

Food was very overpriced for what you get! No flavor to boot. The manager did give us a small discount and brought us a small bowl of complimentary Fireweed ice cream. So that was a nice gesture, but we still paid too much. The appetizer was $18, small and flavorless. My husband’s Rock fish was more of an appetizer than a meal and no flavor. I fed him a PB&J when we got back to the room because he was still hungry. I had the prime rib, and it was better and larger, but still overpriced.

It’s a nice, relaxed lodge. It is fairly isolated and there is not a lot to do around the lodge (not an extensive network of trails, far from excursions booked through the lodge so there is definitely some drive time to do those), but the view is great and the lodge itself is a nice atmosphere. The dining options are also limited (only accessible restaurants are in the lodge itself and the menu has moderate variety), but the food is good. Overall, enjoying my time here and it promotes relaxation.

Great view and nice building but the dining experience is legitimately dangerous. They are serving food that is mislabeled on the menu and this can and WILL lead to serious health issues for their patrons. My girlfriend ordered a Beyond burger and was served a garden bean burger, but she has an allergy to beans. (My father ordered a beef burger and also got the garden burger so they were 0 for 2 on that) They have it labeled as “Beyond”, but that is a *brand name meat-alternative*, it is NOT a catch all for any veggie burger the chef feels like plopping onto a plate. This is the kind of oversight that can literally get someone killed, and the restaurant shut down if a health inspector ever wanders into the town of Copper Center.
Beyond that, when we raised this issue to the waitstaff they literally could not care less and acted like we were inconveniencing them by asking to be served what we had actually ordered. Unreal.

If you are on your way to Valdez this is the perfect stop place to grab a drink and some food. I had the smash berry mule and it was so yummy! The good was good but the view takes the cake. I was in aww of the beauty
