Two Elk Lodge is an awesome on-mountain stop that absolutely nails the vibe. The food is solid—nothing fancy, but exactly what you want when you’re skiing hard and need something warm, filling, and reliable. Whether you grab a seat inside or soak up the sun outside, the atmosphere is unbeatable, with incredible views that make it feel like a true alpine experience. It’s the kind of place that’s less about a standout dish and more about the setting, the energy, and how perfectly it fits into a day on the slopes.

Two Elk Lodge provided much needed rest and refueling for us while we traversed back to Mid-Vail. The service was fast and prompt. The food OK. If there were areas of improvement, Vail Resorts should consider improving the quality of the Chicken tenders and the Pizza (excessive sauce). All in all, glad this lodge is back open and servicing folks.

Two elk is a large, conveniently located spot for eating on the mountain. I brought my food most days, but the fried chicken that others were having smelled good. The prices were very high, but that makes sense for food on the mountain.
It would sometimes get crowded and the lack of trash cans was annoying, but overall it was one of our favorite places to eat.

This is a review for the German-inspired beer hall in the Two Elk Lodge.
I was very disappointed with the service at the beer hall. Specifically, the bartenders were misidentifying the Weihenstephan beer they had on tap on 3/30/24. The bartender was telling people that the beer was a lager. I ordered one and tasted it, and the beer was most definitely the wheat beer, the Weihenstephaner Hefeweißbier.
For context, I am a super fan of this beer specifically. I always seek it out and am always surprised whenever I see it on tap or in the 1L bottles. So suffice to say I was ecstatic when I saw a Weihenstephan beer on tap at Vail. Even if they had been serving the lager, which isn’t my favorite, it still would’ve been very impressive to have it imported and on tap.
Let me be clear, I am still very happy that the Weihenstephaner Hefeweißbier was on tap. My issue is with the disregard for the beer from the servers. I think the most basic requirement is that they should know what beer they are serving and correctly inform customers of the thing they are ordering. I’m also deeply motivated to make this review because I think the owner/operational manager for the Two Elk Lodge should be more aware of how their servers are serving the beer that someone surely put a lot of effort into sourcing and importing. I’m sure they are either 1) German or 2) a German beer enthusiast, and they would be disappointed to hear that their servers are not even advertising the beer correctly. I do hope that the Two Elk Lodge improves on this in the future.

Very crowded and not a great food, as most of our 15 people group was not feeling well after having lunch at Two Elk Lodge. But water and drinks were available for purchase in a great selection. Pretty expensive for poor quality and slow service.

Best spot to eat on the mountain. Plenty of food options and a big space with a fun atmosphere and vibes. Kinda pricey like everything else but a must try at least once while there!

See this tiny piece of chicken? These are supposed to be chicken strips.. but there is almost no chicken. It is all breading…This is gruel… not food. Vail used to pride themselves on their EPIC FOOD.. As you can see they have stooped to a new low. Don’t eat here. Spend your money off mountain. The only saving grace was that the manager refunded my money. She was very apologetic and helpful.

Huge eating space with fact service. There is a bar but not to sit at. Of it had a proper sports bar then that would make it much better.

Full food and amenity experience, not cheap. 3 – 4 different cuisines choices, barbecue chicken pizza, sandwiches, and chili are excellent.

While ordering a chicken burrito, the male worker was coughing in the food prep area. It got progressively worse — in the process of making the burrito, the female worker placed the tortilla over a white towel/rag (used to clean the counter top), As it moved down the counter, the male worker leaned over the counter. and right over the unwrapped burrito (as he reached to replaced the chicken tray). I took one look at the many stains on the front of his black jacket and declined the burrito. I informed him that he just leaned right over my burrito with his dirty jacket, but he seemed baffled by my concern. I suspect food prep hygiene was not part of their training. Needless to say, I lost my apatite altogether, and skipped lunch.
Secondly, the dining area was filthy: trash on tables, trays on the floor, and ice/water on table (that was not cleaned up during our 45 min stay).
Its nice that they have people at the entrance ensuring that my nose is clean, however, I’d prefer if they redirected their effort on keeping the food prep and the dining area clean.
