The Pizza was scrumptious!
There is place to dine inside and outside both.
We ordered Fungi and Sweet and Spicy both with thick dough. OMG, not only so tasty but the dough fermentation is SUPER. Thick but light.
The tomato sauce on Sweet and Spicy was so fresh and had homemade vibe..
The taste of different mushrooms on Fungi was unforgettable. Highly recommend
P.S : The size of thick pizza are big, each Pizza is pretty enough for three people
1. The meatballs appetizer came with 3 large meatballs that were very good, not great, but loved the sauce they came in. I wish there had been two slices of toasted bread to mop up the sauce with.
2. The chopped salad was tasty, loved the Italian vinaigrette that came on it and the salami, and the rainbow carrots were pretty and had lots of flavor. When it first came to our table I thought that we’d received the wrong salad as everything in it wasn’t chopped as in chopped salads I’ve had before.
3. The margherita thin crust pizza was good, I loved the char that the crust had and the taste of the crust was fantastic – I’m a crust gal (not crusty, I just love the crust), and this one was crunchy and chewy, not soggy, think but not too thin. The rest of the pizza was good, but the crust was the star.
4. We got a slice of the spicy pepperoni Sicilian to try. At $7, it was a pretty big slice that’s cut diagonally. This was my favorite. The crust was delicious, lots of crunch to it yet soft, light and chewy on the inside, and the pepperoni is really, really good. The ricotta and spicy honey made this slice’s taste my favorite of the day.
I found the prices on par with similar places around LA, and let’s face it, everything is expensive. We chose to dine in, and it looked like they had a good beer selection and a handful of wine if you choose to sit at one of their tables (there aren’t many, and we saw a lot of takeout orders go through the door while we were there). Overall it was worth the drive to try it, and I’d stop back in again if I was in the neighborhood, or before seeing a show at The Canyon Club.
They only had a few beers on tap as they had run out of a few taps. There were plenty of bottled beer selections. There were a few wines, but they were out of what my wife ordered and didn’t realize it until they went to serve us. No big deal, they had a different white which was fine.
The salad was excellent. The atmosphere was average. Just kind of a strip mall feel. They were very busy with “to go” orders and about half of the tables were filled. We still got our order quick!
The dishes were fresh and tasteful. The make their own cocktail mixes was perfect for a hot afternoon, nice surprise
Can’t wait to be back.
