Very good food…couldn’t fully enjoy it. My family and I went here to celebrate my birthday. Had we known that the AC was busted and nothing was being done to address the issue, we would not have stayed. It just kept getting hotter while no fans (other than the just for show low speed ceiling fans) were turned on, no doors/windows opened, and the door to the bar…where the AC worked…remained closed. Fine dining in a sauna is thankfully not a thing normally. This review would have likely been five stars, if not for my being drenched in sweat and feeling ill the whole time. The food was very good. Fancy without being pretentious. Solid flavor combinations and well cooked. Our server was very nice and tried to see if something could be done to alleviate our discomfort…but management didn’t respond as one would hope, or at all really. The heat seemed to be fine with the older folks that made up most of the customers, so maybe there wasn’t enough “demand” to trigger a customer service response. We understand that things happen but doing nothing is not an acceptable response to something like this. Despite the excellent food my family won’t be returning. We prefer to spend our money at places that provide great food AND do whatever they can to provide guests with an enjoyable dining experience (a fan or two or an open window would have at least shown some effort).
The most incredible meal! The service is was just as incredible. Fernando was awesome! From start to finish – we absolutely loved everything about this place! We had the pork loin special with risotto and asparagus; as well as, the trout with potatoes. We started with the crab cake and fried oysters. We will most certainly be coming back! Make a reservation! You won’t be disappointed!
Prices are a bit high for the dishes. Service was a bit slow. I had to stop eating for a while, bc my server did not do a check back and I needed salt and both myself and my husband had no drink. I was gonna pay with my debit card but ended up gathering up enough cash to put in the check book so i could leave bc nobody came back to get my payment. The food was good tho.
BEST OPTION IN NW NORTH CAROLINA. This place was so good. Service was excellent. It was obvious that they have a chef who is directing the menu and specials very well. The appetizers (crab cake (1) and fried Brussel sprouts) were on point. The entrees were incredible. TRY THE SPECIALS. We had grouper, rib eye, and shrimp and andouille. Desserts were excellent – key lime, crème brûlée, and brownie and ice cream – huge desserts with great flavor. This is a must eat place if you are even as far banner elk.
Horrible service tonight. Had 7pm reservations. Sat at our table for 20 minutes before we even got water. We had to ask twice. Everything was a long wait. Waiter never asked if we wanted refills or another drink (glass of wine/twig mule). Never was served rolls. We had to ask for bread. When we finally got the little dinner rolls, they were hard as a rock! Our appetizer and dinner were good. Not enough silverware for our dessert. Had 1 spoon. The decaf coffee was disgusting, like mud. However, our cheesecake tasted good. Do not take a lot of reservations if you can’t staff. The other tables were complaining about the service as well. Step up your service or you won’t have any customers to serve.
our server cassie was so lovely and really cheerful! the food was so tasty and the atmosphere was beautiful. we were so grateful for free dessert for our honeymoon!!
Phenomenal! Dinner was spending, food was super flavorful and portions made me feel like I was getting my money’s worth. Expensive, yes, but I would say I feel like it was worth it for the dinning experience.
Spent $500 at this place tonight (dinner for 2). Chicken was super hard to saw in to. As we were finishing up signing our checks they asked us to leave!! What kind of manager works here? Who owns this place?? I asked to speak to the manager… waited 15 minutes no one came. There is a million places to eat in Blowing Rock I suggest you choose wisely.

Highly recommend this place. We ended up there both nights. From the hostess getting us a seat at the last minute and before they were closing to the best meal. My wife had left her purse there overnight and Liz meet us way before the restaurant open so we can head back home. Service and food was a 10 star experience.
Every single thing we ate here was amazing! App recommendation: the peach bbq duck tenders- so incredibly tender, crunchy, sweet, & smokey. Our favorite entrees: the shrimp and grits, and the mountain rainbow trout. Both seafood items were perfectly cooked and the flavors really well balanced and delicious. Can’t wait to return when we’re back in town.
