We ordered: toasted ravioli, side salads, tortellini, I don’t recall the last dishes name- I think it was the combo pasta, and the cannoli
We received: bread/rolls and oil with capers and seasoning
My only complaints: I feel the oil could use some more flavor (I hate to compare it but Anthony’s oil is way better and maybe expecting that type of flavor in the oil is why it was so different). And my toasted ravioli came to the table very light in my opinion (however they tasted very good)
The combo pasta has manicotti, lasagna, and a ravioli on a bed of pasta and we chose the alla panna (sp??) which is the Alfredo and marinara mixed sauce. The sauce is definitely YUMMY. However I can’t say I would get that dish again on my own (I shared it with my daughter). The side salad was good and the toasted ravioli I would get again and ask for them to be a bit darker.
My friend and her daughter had the tortellini, side salad and cannoli and said she would get it all again.
Our server was aware of the menu and made suggestions which is always helpful and appreciated.
I would definitely return.
My family and I have lived in Blue Springs for a while now and never gotten around to eating at Tuscany. When we first pulled up the parking lot was full and in this town that is good because we have zero good places to eat.
As you first walk into restaurant you could see that the owners took the time to make the reaturant look like the outdoor seating of an an Italian Bistro in Italy. It was very cute and was done very tastefully. My first and really only of two complaints is that the waitress running tables was also the hostess and that made for about a 10 minute wait at the front door before we were greeted. After being set things picked up and our service was good. Dinner was good, but not amazing. That is hard with Italian food in my eyes as there is only a few places in the metro that do it perfectly. The bread could use a little less oil and the salad a little more toppings, but our main courses were for sure above the Olive Gardens of the world. Keep it up Tuscany.
Overall I think that we would revisit Tuscany.
The bowl in the photos I posted is their alla Panna sauce. We’ve never been here before, so we asked to try a small sample of it to just taste. Not only did they charge us ($3) for the small amount that they brought, but it tasted like SpaghettiOs….
Anna, the waitress, also didn’t seem to really have any answers for any of our questions. It being our first time there, we had questions about what her favorite things are, or how something tastes, but it was always “oh, it tastes good! It’s better than anything else I have had.” This really doesn’t help someone choose what they might like to eat.
Overall a very underwhelming and disappointing experience.
During Christmas, they had a tree with little presents for the kids who came in. The owner (I assume?) always comes out and makes a big deal about saying hello to my daughter. He always addresses her as ‘Little Princess’ and she absolutely loves it.
It’s a comfortable little neighborhood restaurant with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and thoughtful people working there.
Calamari- it was okay. Nothing special to write about. Luke warm.
Baked Ziti with Italian sausage- Entire dish was luke warm. Sausage is not very flavorful- also a $4 up charge. Sauce was just meh. Overall the dish was mediocre.
Chicken Palermo- Entire dish cold. Chicken is extremely flat/salty. Sauce was was meh. My husband tried mine and said it was “disgusting and colder than mine.”
Service- Our server was nice. Somewhat quiet. No pre-bussing done. No refills offered. Just meh in the service too.
One of the owners — Frankie— (overheard his name at another table) never came to our table to check on us. Greeted others though. Very off putting to us since he never came to our table.
In our opinion go to V’s off 40. Way better. Similar pricing. Unfortunately, this was our first and last time here.
