This was a great sit down restaurant in downtown Denver. It is also very close to union station. The chicken tasted amazing! The chicken has a honey hint to it and very juicy! The whole experience was so nice.

Chicken done right and a large menu of items to choose from. Everything is pretty much delicolious. Good drinks selection to pair with too. Service is very excellent. I will definitely go back if ever in Denver again.

I’ve eaten at the original restaurant in Asheville many times. And the is like the Stouffers frozen food version.
I had the lunch special, which all seemed to be made in a mass produced buffet line – the cup of soup was luke warm and gelatinous, the crispy potatoes were probably cooked hours before, the pecan chicken salad sandwich had good pieces of chicken but no pecans.
Bathrooms had no electricity / lights.
Service was good.
Definitely would not go back.

I ordered takeout from Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar last night, and it was an absolute revelation. Everything – and I mean *everything* – was delicious.

We got the chicken finger family sampler, shrimp and grits, and pecan pie, along with fried okra, fried pickles, Brussels sprouts, and mac & cheese. As someone from Alabama, I can tell you this food genuinely brought back childhood memories. The flavors were spot-on authentic.

The chicken fingers were perfectly Southern-fried with that ideal crispy coating and juicy interior. The shrimp and grits couldn’t have been more authentic – creamy, perfectly seasoned grits with beautifully cooked shrimp. Every side dish held its own, from the tangy crunch of the fried pickles to the comforting richness of the mac & cheese.

What I especially appreciate is the restaurant’s namesake itself. For those unfamiliar, Tupelo honey comes from the white Ogeechee Tupelo trees that grow in the swamps of the Deep South, primarily in northwest Florida and southern Georgia. This rare, prized honey – which never crystallizes – has been treasured in Southern cuisine for generations. It’s a beautiful touch that the restaurant honors this connection, bringing a piece of authentic Southern heritage to Denver. Most people here probably don’t realize the significance, but it shows the care and authenticity behind everything Tupelo Honey does.

I picked up our order rather than dining in (I’m not huge on venturing into the city, but I do love trying new food!). The takeout was perfectly packaged and the food traveled beautifully. If you’re craving real Southern cooking in Denver, this is your place. Highly recommended.

The service was rocky at first, I was overlooked 4 different times before being told someone would help you soon. After that the waitress was great and the food was delicious, especially the roasted potatoes. The chicken on the pancakes is not so great, but the eggs made up for it. Overall, it was a decent experience that will leave you feeling satisfied.

An excellent experience overall. We enjoyed the fried green tomato appetizer but thought it could use some spice. For entrees, we had the smothered chicken, harvest bowl with grilled chicken, and cast iron pork. Each of these items was quite good. The smothered chicken batter gave the chicken excellent flavor. Our server was very attentive as well.

Loved everything! The food, drinks, service, atmosphere, location, all of it! Tupelo has definitely become my favorite out to eat location! We ordered several things. The grits with goatcheese, fried green tomatoes, smoothered chicken biscuits, and a few others all of them were delicious!

Update: everything was still very delicious with amazing customer service. The sweet potato pancakes

Fantastic Southern comfort food with a modern twist! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and energetic. The menu has an excellent variety, and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

I always try something different every time we go. This time I had the Southern Shakshuka, and it was excellent. We always get the biscuits with the blueberry compote; they now have peach, which was the family favorite. Portions were generous, and presentation was on point.

Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient without feeling rushed. Drinks and cocktails were well-crafted and complemented the food nicely.

Overall, Tupelo Honey delivers consistent quality, great service, and bold Southern flavors. Whether you’re visiting for brunch, lunch, or dinner, it’s a spot I’d gladly return to and recommend to others.

It’s not the same. The potato’s are not made fresh but are bought frozen then cooked. The quality of the chicken, spices and batter are not the same either.

Very disappointing.. probably won’t eat here again :(. The had the best potato’s and smothered chicken here in Denver.. not anymore.
