From the greeting at the front door to final transaction between the server and our table were 5⭐ and beyond. Our food was hot, very tasty and the presentation was on point. As the restaurant got busier, we still received the attention we needed throughout our stay. This was our first time visiting and we will be back and I do and will highly recommend Tupelo Honey. We were a table of 5 and the star dishes were….Fried Green Tomatoes, the biscuits & the chicken waffle (the honey glaze was ). There was one issue which was resolved immediately and that was the potatoes. They were overly salty, but our server exchanged them without any issues which helped our overall experience to be 5⭐’s

This was our first visit to Tupelo and it was a great experience. Our waiter was Connor, and he provided service like it was a high end establishment. He did and amazing job. Plating and taste were very good, although neither of us were fond of the arugula side salad. We don’t typically eat bread and such, but we couldn’t resist the biscuits with fruit preserves and butter.

Tupelo Honey was quite a nice surprise. It has a very brunch like atmosphere and is Southern through and through. I was BEYOND pleased with the appetizer of fries green tomatoes. To my surprise, it came over their to die for grits. Wow, everything on that plate was moth watering. I got the shrimp and grits which they are very well known for. The sauce was rich and super tasty. I was very happy with the spicing and quality of the dish. The meatloaf was kind of Asian tasting as it had a soy sauce like glaze. It was very filling and ate heavy. The sides were on point and extremely good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I got the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was good but the grits desperately needed more seasoning. Also the portion is way too small to be honest. I was still hungry after eating it. The meatloaf was also not very good. Ill probably come again for the chicken and waffles

I’m a longtime fan of Tupelo Honey in Myrtle Beach, SC — it’s a must-visit for me every year. Since I live in Cleveland, I was excited to take a 2-hour drive to the Columbus location, hoping for the same great experience.

Atmosphere & Service
The restaurant was very clean and well-kept. We waited about 10 minutes for a booth, even though some were already clean. Everyone was seated in one compact area, which made it quite noisy — but it was the sound of people enjoying themselves, so I didn’t mind too much. They also have outdoor seating available, and I noticed some guests dining with their dogs, which was nice to see. Our waitress took a while to acknowledge us, but once we ordered, our food came out fairly quickly thanks to other servers.

Food
My absolute favorite at Tupelo Honey is their biscuits with blueberry compote — they hold a lot of nostalgia for me from my first visit with my kids. Sadly, this time the biscuits were disappointing: a bit dry, topped with baked-in salt and pepper that made them way too salty. In my opinion, the added salt was unnecessary.

The fried green tomatoes and grits were beautifully presented and just as delicious as I remember — definitely the highlight of my meal. Had leftovers to take home for the next day and it was just as good. My husband ordered the dusted fried chicken with potato wedges, but unfortunately, both were very disappointing. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor, and the potato wedges were so hard they were more like potato skins. He wasn’t impressed, and since this was his first visit, he doesn’t plan to make the 2-hour drive again.

I also tried the peach compote, which was amazing, and the blueberry compote was still good — just different from the Myrtle Beach location.

Overall
The grits saved the meal for me, but between the overly salty biscuits, my husband’s dry chicken, and the long drive, I’m not sure this location is worth the trip. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was spotless, the outdoor seating with dogs was a nice touch, and the atmosphere was lively for a Sunday afternoon — but I’ll probably stick to visiting Tupelo Honey in Myrtle Beach for now.

I have really wanted to eat at Tupelo Honey for a long time and was asked to go with two friends for lunch. One woman in our group had eaten there before and loved it. Our experience today was so bad that none of us will ever return. I had the Harvest chicken breast meal (a new item) and took two bites and could not eat any more of the chicken, it was so tough. It was also drenched in a red pepper and spinach cream sauce that was not spiced well and was way too abundant. Because the waitress had to attend to a large party of 26 people, while she was very nice, and did check back within a minute of us getting our food, I was unable to tell her that the chicken was inedible by the time I knew (she only checked back one time until it was time for our checks). Therefore, I ate my sides which were mashed potatoes (pretty good) and green beans (mediocre and almost as if they’d been diced up). I tried my friend’s mac n cheese (watered and flavorless) and a bite of her honey dusted chicken breast (nothing to write home about). I actually prefer Giant Eagles fried chicken. Lastly, I tried one piece of my friends fried ocra, and it tasted strange, not in a good way. She felt the same about all of the items on her plate. She wanted to get dessert, but we ran out of time by the time our waitress checked back. I am sure she is usually a great waitress but the party of 26 required most of her time. The restaurant did comp my meal, but even that would not be enough of an incentive to return for another try.

I first discovered Tupelo Honey years ago in North Carolina, and I was thrilled when a location opened here in Columbus not long after. I’ve been several times over the years, but a recent date night planned by my partner reminded me just how good the food really is—and it felt like time to finally share.

We kicked things off with the buttermilk biscuits, which are not only warm, flaky, and absolutely delicious, but also support a good cause—proceeds from the biscuits go to charity, which makes them taste even better.

Next, we ordered the fried green tomatoes, served on a bed of creamy grits and accompanied by a flavorful tomato soup. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside, tender inside, and the soup made a surprisingly great dipping sauce that tied everything together.

For our main course, we shared the fried chicken with potatoes, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was incredibly juicy inside, with a crisp, golden crust that’s hard to beat. Tupelo Honey continues to be one of the top spots in Columbus for expertly executed fried chicken.

Whether you’re craving Southern comfort food or looking for a cozy date night spot, Tupelo Honey delivers consistently—and with heart.

This place was WONDERFUL! The atmosphere was good and the restaurant was nice and neat from its layout to its decor. All staff was friendly and quick to help out. Our server, Teddy, was so kind and attentive! We avoid eating out because we’ve found it hard to justify prices with the quality of the food and the overall service but we could rave endlessly about Tupelo Columbus! Not only did our drinks and food come out so quick and hot, the taste and quality was top notch. 10/10 recommend the mimosas, the sweet and spicy chicken, pimento cheese dip, and even the desserts! Literally cannot say one bad thing about our experience. We don’t come into Columbus often but already know when we do, we’re going back to Tupelo’s!
