This place is great! Service was great and our server/the staff was so attentive. Food was delicious, the family style is perfect in terms of serving sizes! We got the tuna crudo and squash arancini for starters. Then we got the mushroom tortellini, penne ala vodka, and the chitarra with meatballs. Dessert we had like a white chocolate pudding, and an apple pastry. Everything was delicious – our only complaints are that the mushroom pasta was slightly over salted, the peas in the penne felt a bit too hard and undercooked, and the desserts were a bit too sweet for my taste. Our favorites were the tuna, chitarra, and arancini. I recommend making a reservation but we walked in and sat at the chefs table (first come first serve) and it was so much fun watching them make our meal (shoutout to the chefs working tonight)! Note: I cant speak on regular serving sizes and their affordability/value since we only got family style.

We finally decided to try Tulip after hearing so many wonderful things, and the atmosphere was just as charming as expected. Our table by the front was lovely, and both the food and service were pleasant overall.
The only disappointment came with the prix fixe policy. We had mentioned to our server that we didn’t want the prix fixe menu and instead chose to share a couple of appetizers and three pasta dishes among the four of us. After the meal arrived, the manager kindly stopped by but explained that our order technically counted as prix fixe, so we’d be charged $55 per person. It was a surprise and took a bit away from an otherwise nice evening.
The pasta was tasty — fresh and nicely prepared — but felt a bit pricey given the final total (around $400 for four people, including drinks).
Tulip has a lot of potential, and I can see why people enjoy it. My suggestion would be to simplify or remove the prix fixe option and perhaps make the wine pricing a bit more approachable, especially since the wines come from the same owned winery. A few small tweaks could make the experience feel much more inviting.
Overall, a pleasant dinner with great company, but I hope to see some refinements before returning.

This place was a true dining experience! The staff to the chefs was truly amazing. I recommend the tasting menu, it allows you to understand the authenticity and story of Tulip Pasta & Wine Bar through their food. My boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves so much we plan to take our moms to experience the same enjoyment we did. Can’t wait to be back

Great food at a good price! We did the $55pp tasting menu, which I think is the way to go. 2 apps, 3 pastas and 2 deserts for two. For apps the focaccia with stracciatella was geeat and the scallop crudo was awesome! Just a wonderful combination of flavors. All the pastas we had were really good, but the short rib was the best one. My dining partner doesn’t like any spice, so I’ll try some other pastas next time. Dessert was great too. Casual atmosphere and a very nice and helpful server. You can’t go wrong here. I’ll be back.

Tulip Pasta & Wine Bar is tucked on a corner in Fishtown with a great tasting menu! I was so excited to come with my friend and we had a good experience.
The restaurant itself was cute and cozy. We sat in the back and the service was incredible. We decided to go with the tasting menu at $55 per person – 2 apps, 3 full size pastas and 2 desserts.
For apps, we got the stracciatella with focaccia and chicken milanese. They were cooked well and the chicken had amazing crisp. Both were delicious, I just found them to be too salty. I found all the dishes to be a *touch* too salty though.
For pastas, we got the mafalde al limone, lobster ravioli and campanelle. For me, none of them stood out as amazing. They were all good though. My friend loved the lobster ravioli!
For dessert, we got the ricotta fritters and tiramisu. The fritters were amazing. They melted in my mouth, no notes. The tiramisu was a bit odd because of the added chai spice, I wasn’t the biggest fan.
Overall, I had a nice experience. The amount of food for $55 was absolutely worth it, along with great service. I do have other Italian spots that I do prefer over this, so I don’t think I will be back. Happy I came though!

This place has THE BEST Chicken Milanese I have ever had. I’ve been to Milan, Italy, I’ve been to NYC, theeee best chicken Milanese is in Philly at Tulip Pasta & Wine Bar. They use dark meat, pounded thin, deep fried until crispy. The leg and thigh meat are so juicy while having a crispy exterior. There’s a black pepper mayo for dipping and a tasty tomato salad served on top. Pastas are out of this world. Get a glass of pet nat to wash it down. They got gluten free pasta options too!

Add this place to growing list of must visit places in fish town. Pleasantly surprised but how awesome this experience was. Totally unassuming is tulip Pasta and Wine bar just off the main strip? In fish town. (Even better feels slightly tucked away) the exterior caught our eye as it looks right out of a Wes Anderson movie. We didn’t have reservations but as we passed by as they opened we had no problems getting a 2 top in the back dining room. Everything about this place is exactly where it needs to be! The service, decor, music, and most importantly the food and drinks were perfect. Always love when a place keeps things local and regional and the local wines did not disappoint. We had two reds the earthy mineral red was spot on for the meal. I started with the espresso martini as I gave the night before a nudge and needed to ease my way back into it. First up was the house made Stracciatella and sea salt focaccia. Brilliant. Delicious. We added the salad with strawberries and some hush puppies and we were humming before even trying plane pastas. I don’t want to ruin the rest but do yourself a favor and bring a date here. A co worker. Your folks. It was amazing. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
