The tugboat restaurant had a great location, the dining room overlooking Boothbay Harbor. The outside is actually the look of a renovated tugboat in the inside is a typical dark wood seaside restaurant with lots of windows overlooking the bay. I had a grilled scallop dinner and the scallops were done to perfection And there must’ve been 15 to 20 in the bowl. My wife loved their lobster bisque and she was very happy with their Caesar salad. The prices were fair. The service was decent. The view was wonderful. This was definitely a great place for lunch and would definitely returnanytime. I visit Boothbay Harbor again.

On vacation in Boothbay, Me and went to Tugboat Restaurant for dinner. Very unique place, in an old vintage Tugboat and most tables have a view of the harbor, decorated very nautical looking. Was seated immediately and our waitress approached us, told us the specials and took our beverage order. I ordered the Fried Shrimp plate and hub ordered the baked Haddock with crab stuffing topped with Newburg sauce. Dinners came in a timely fashion and were piping hot and inviting. My shrimp were cooked perfectly and they gave you a large portion, delicious!! Hub really enjoyed his baked haddock, it was a generous portion as well but he finished it. Our waitress checked on us several times, she took good care of us. Prices are comparable to the other restaurants and you got your money’s worth. We shared a piece of their homemade Blueberry pie, their desserts are made by one of the employees, we got vanilla ice cream on the side. That pie was just fantastic, we loved it!! Yum! Nice clean place, street parking out in front if your lucky and parking behind the restaurant. We enjoyed our dinners and recommend giving this place a try!! Debbie, Mich.

Awesome food, awesome view, awesome service. Harry took great care of us. It was Father’s Day and the restaurant was packed. Harry took our orders and the food and drink came quickly. The cocktail was really good. Best lobster bisque I’ve ever had. Steamers were excellent. The seafood medley was super fresh and tasty. It was such a memorable dinner.

The food was okay. Nothing special. The service was not very good. We were a party of two and larger parties were being attended to more than we were. She never returned to refill water, or checked to see how our meal was. It also took a long time to get the check and to pay. The view was great, but that’s about it.

We’ve been to Boothbay Harbor a bunch over the years but 2025 was our first time visiting the Tugboat and we can’t wait to go back. Our waitress was great, as was the food, and my (local) craft beer was nice and cold. Beautiful views of the harbor and such a cool building too. Brought our two kids with us and they enjoyed their meals, and the tugboat itself.

We ate on the top deck. The food was fine, but we didn’t go there for the food. The view was awesome! We watched the 4th of July fireworks from here. Greg was our server and he was great. Drinks were good. If you’re looking for a great atmosphere you can’t go wrong on the top deck. We did not eat downstairs, but the food looked good from what I could see and it was more of a traditional seafood restaurant atmosphere.

We came in for dinner after walking around town sight seeing. Upon walking in we where greeted with a friendly smile. We where seated immediately and brought water. The menu had something for everyone. The waitress followed up with drink requests and a short break for us to decide on a meal choice. Once ordered our meal was brought out within 25 minutes giving us time to visit and enjoy our apps. The haddock was delicious! Everyone at our table was very satisfied with the service, pricing, and quality of the food. We had a great time and will be back the next time we’re in town. Thank you!
