This place was just okay. It was actually a little pricey in the tacos were nothing out of this world. We had the carnet Asada, chicken, and pastrami tacos. We took the stuff to go but the atmosphere seemed okay for drinks especially of your out late. Overall I would give this place a 7/10. The servers were nice but it did take a wild to have the order finished. Personally, and this is just my own opinion, I like my tacos as authentic as possible. When we tried to make fusion tacos, or something that doesn’t necessarily seem like what was originally intended it is easy to miss the mark. Don’t get me wrong, some things were great in a taco. Especially Korean food. But not everything makes the grade. The best tacos we had in California were street tacos. We tried three different places and one was better than the other. Since the money buys street taco!

Tu Madre was recommended by a local Santa Monica resident whom I asked for a good place for burritos! I was very excited to see the menu included lots of vegetarian options including a jack fruit asada burrito that was absolutely delicious! They had a smaller beer menu but lots of other drinks! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice warm friendly vibe for a date night or just to sit at the bar and socialize/ watch the games.

Wow. Everyone needs to try this place. The most unique tacos we’ve ever seen and tasted. Pure bliss. I got a virgin Bloody Mary and it was so good and tasted like there was something special in it. Best I’ve ever had. The strawberita (NA drink) was also super yummy. Recommend. 12/10. You ain’t have nothing like this where you live (unless you live here).

Stopped in randomly to grab margaritas and stayed for dinner. The food was amazing. It’s been a couple weeks since we were there and the The bulgogi tacos are still on my mind. The staff is on it, very friendly and attentive and the prices are very reasonable. Got away with drinks and dinner for just under a hundred dollars which is hard to do these days. This is definitely a spot I’ll be bringing my friends when they are in town

I recently moved nearby to Tu Madre and it has quickly and easily become one of my favorites. It’s a great easy place to bring friends if you’re looking for something cute/easy/delicious in the area (a bit loud sometimes but a fun vibe). They have a great happy hour for drinks and snacks until 6, but their regular menu is reasonably priced and incredible. My favorite tacos are the ahi tuna taco and the crispy fish taco. The fried chicken taco is also a highlight. And for street tacos, the chipotle tomatillo chicken is my favorite but all are worth trying. Their truffle guac is incredible, I can’t go there without getting it. And their drinks! They have a well-crafted mocktail menu, which as someone who’s trying to cut back on alcohol I really appreciate. I would go there simply to have their non alcoholic frozen horchata as a dessert. But their alcoholic drinks are also superb.

We found this place because it was open late on a Sunday. I’m so glad we decided to eat here! It’s a very trendy atmosphere and the food is amazing. Get the chips and guacamole – the chips were so fresh that we had to wait for them to cool off before we could eat them.

The atmosphere was very fun, and I loved the little details like beautiful flowers and herbs in the water pitcher, fresh flowers on the tables, and gorgeous plants and decor on the patio area.

I have tried the West Hollywood location of Tu Madre before and it was really good! I was unfortunately a bit underwhelmed by my experience here but still enjoyed the plant based tacos. From last time my favorite was the vegan chicken and fried avocado tacos but this visit they just didn’t seem as flavorful. The eggplant chorizo taco was interesting and had a very believable chorizo taste. The jackfruit taco was a bit underflavored as well. Heads up that the squash quesadilla is very small! The red velvet Churros don’t seem to have a unique flavor but the cream cheese frosting was delicious! I would definitely give it another chance.

We were close to the pier looking for a late night dinner, and found this place. Everyone was so friendly, the food was delicious, and we loved the environment. Our favorite was the $2 tacos they had. Loved it!

They have a large menu with plant base options. I had the KBBQ street taco with asian marinade steak, kimchi, avocado tomatillo salsa and I had the CAULIELOWER RAJAS burrito with cauliflower, poblano chiles, corn, onion, crispy cheese, and salsa roja (red). They are both tasty & delicious! Their aguas frescas (drinks) have a twist & not your average, so read the ingredients!! The staff provided excellent customer service
