I’m honestly shocked they don’t carry Tsuki Sake because it’s a local brand and pairs SO WELL with their food — especially anything with tuna or citrus. If you haven’t tried that combo yet, do it. It takes the whole meal to another level!!!!
Let me just simply say, Tsunami hit the spot. A table populated with sushi as far as the eye can see is a sight to behold. Each bite of those decadent rolls left me satisfied down to the last grain of rice. But let’s pause here and give praise to the real star of the show, the appetizers. I had the pleasure of dropping a Shrimp Popper onto my tongue, giving that bad boi a few bites, and sending it straight into my happy belly. If you were to ask me if I’d go back, my response would be, “the check is in the mail.”
Also, I’ll give a tip of the fedora to the music choice of the afternoon, Hermanos Gutiérrez. You may think a Latin America vibe in a sushi joint is out of place, but you’d be dead wrong buddy. That two-piece band took me on a beautiful cross cultural journey.
With that I’ll close out my review by saying, sayonara amigos.
p.s. it was a work lunch, ya know, the boss and all. The food was fantastic, but the company was so-so, mediocre at best. I give the table conversation 2.5 stars, and that’s being generous.
What made this unacceptable was not just the wait, but the constant change in information, the lack of honesty, and the unprofessional and rude attitude. Being kept with vague answers and no clear estimate is extremely frustrating.
If a restaurant cannot handle delivery orders or does not know the real wait time, this should be communicated clearly and respectfully from the beginning. Delivery drivers’ time matters, and this level of disorganization and disrespect is unacceptable.
Also so glad the shooters are in shells again.
Keep up the great work! The rolls were amazing last night.
Most Mexican restaurants are a gamble. You eat. It tastes great. Then 45 minutes later your stomach files a formal complaint and you are negotiating with your life choices in a bathroom somewhere.
Contento Cafe is not that.
This is Mexican food that does not betray you.
The chips are crisp and clean, not oil soaked mystery triangles. The salsa has real flavor and heat, not that watery red stuff that tastes like regret. And the grass fed beef tacos actually taste like quality meat, not grease disguised as protein.
You finish your meal and instead of gut pain, you feel fueled. Strong. Clear. Alive. It is Mexican food that loves you back.
Flavor hits hard. Ingredients are legit. You walk out satisfied, not sprinting.
If you want amazing tacos without scheduling recovery time, Contento Cafe is the move. Top tier.
