Maaaaaiiineeee, this was some Jerk Chicken! Flavorful, juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. The cabbage was on point, the yams were an actual quarter yam, sliced and peeled, with a piece of ginger underneath. I don’t eat ANYone else’s jerk! Irie is the best hands down … they give you a great amount and every bite is delicious. They are polite and my order is always right. It’s about $28-30 total for an oxtail dinner with two sides and jerk sauce.

A friend of mine’s took me here and I enjoyed it! The atmosphere is warm and hospitable. The ladies working behind the counter was VERY nice The food was soooooo delicious I thought I didn’t like Jamaican food but this place made me reconsider. I will put my people on to this place. It’s full of flavor. Not salty. Not too spicy. Just perfect. I tried the oxtail lunch with yams and cabbage. Everything was perfect. Will be back.

I can’t believe they really sold me this bull. Mostly bones. And spending good money. It was a combo plate: chicken and curry goat. They gave me one drum that was skimpy and the goat had no meat on it. Take it off the menu!!!! Make it right please because I just put another friend on it but we will stay in town and not drive 40 minutes to get to your place

I give this location 3 stars due to my call-in order being ready when I got there, the jerk tacos being fire , and the food has good flavor. However, yet again, I was disappointed in the oxtails I received. Not only are they cut thin, but they are tough. When I order oxtails, I expect it to fall off the bone. The flavor was good, but the meat was tough. Also, I didn’t appreciate being asked to pay 67¢ per jerk sauce (I bought two oxtail meals and a jerk tacos meal) and was told that a sauce does not come with the oxtails meals. Paying $25-$30 per meal should certainly come with at least one sauce, if not two. Needless to say I had already added a tip on the receipt out of habit BEFORE asking if the sauce was in the bag. For someone to buy three meals, asking for a sauce for each meal should have been given as a courtesy. So, yeah. Other than for jerk tacos, this location is no longer my preference.

I have eaten at iries other location near calumet city a few times and it was great. I placed an order at this location for oxtails and a chicken wing dinner and it was ok but not as good as the other location. I do want to add that it was right before closing but I’m not sure if that justifies the food. I was giving 1 cup of jerk sauce and I believe that was because I bought a bottle of sauce from them for my home but I still think I deserved a fair amount for the 2 meals I ordered that were 66 dollars with the bottle of sauce included. The service was great tho and the people were super nice my only issue was the price vs the quality

The food was sooo good! The jerk sauce was delicious and has a unique taste (in the best way possible but be careful cause you might start craving it!). Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly, chicken was juicy and fall off the bone. Y’all see they’re not stingy with the gravy either. Got the dark meat jerk lunch special. Will be my go to jerk spot from now on! 10/10 ✨

Got the combination plate with jerk chicken and oxtails and mac and cheese and I was supposed to have a salad as well but they forgot it smh. I had a beef patty as well. The food I did actually get was good. To really take it to the next level the Mac n cheese tasted a lil off and the jerk Chicken could use more seasoning and spice but everything was good overall.

Despite the poor reviews I decided to check this restaurant for myself. I ordered the 6 wings dinner, and I should have just got the wings. The chicken wings was good even though they didn’t have that smoked flavor. I should have just ordered the wings instead of paying $21 for the dinner because the sides was not good. The Mac n cheese tasted like boxed stove top macaroni. The yams looked undercooked and was horrible. The beans and rice was good though. As far as location and service, it’s a Jamaican restaurant with a Jamaican staff.. if you’ve been to any other jerk spot this location is no different.

It’s a take out place. (Not dine in). I ordered curry goat with cabbage and yams and was very pleased with my meal.
The goat was tender and not overcooked (which happens alot when ordering goat). The flavor was excellent!
The cabbage was very good and the yam was just ok. (Gave me one large yam piece)
It included the rice &beans which were very good and well seasoned.
It was also a Great portion size for the price. I recommend and will visit again.
