First time here and everything was great! Mimi was our server and she was absolutely amazing. Service was wonderful. The food came out quick and hot. Drinks were good! I have no complaints and will be coming back when I come back in town.

My friend and I decided to come here on 2/19/26 to try their menu for Chicago Black Restaurant Week 2026. We lucked up and was able to find a free parking space right by the restaurant. We walk in and are immediately greeted by Kai and were seated in a comfy and roomy space near the beautiful black art that is on the wall. It’s a place where many come to and sit at the bar as there were many younger females there enjoying themselves at the bar watching from the four TVs they have there.
Kai waited on us and was very attentive. We order a mocktail and a cocktail (lemondrop). I didn’t like my lemondrop as it didn’t taste like it should and Kai was nice enough to try & fix it and had me taste it again but I still didn’t like it. It was taken off the bill.
We order from the special menu they had for Chicago Black Restaurant Week. Soup of the day was Shrimp and Corn Chowder and Chicken Poblano both of which was delicious! We didn’t have to wait long for our main courses which was the chicken and the rib eye sliced steak both that came with homemade mashed potatoes and some asparagus. They seasoned the meal very well and we enjoyed it. We both left the asparagus on the plate – that needs work. I recommend that they be shaved before cooking to eliminate the bitter taste and to get smaller ones for better flavor. Dessert came immediately after that and it was strawberry and caramel cheesecake, both which were beautifully presented.
All in all, we enjoyed our experience here. You get ALOT for a $40 meal we felt and it was good. A suggestion: the rap & r&b music was great while there but way too loud – we had a hard time hearing each other in conversation.
Jamie is the new owner since August 2025. He served our soup but we didn’t know at the time that he was the owner until we were leaving and approached us wanting to know how everything was which we thought was so nice. Make sure you check with the restaurant what their hours are because they are extended from what the past owner had. He told us he will be updating the hours on all platforms including the hours listed on the door soon. He mentioned to us about their happy hour so I want to come back and try that as well because I definitely will be back. Love supporting black businesses.

Stop thru here for a quick bit to eat and tried the Volo French Toast Flight 8.9. Easily one of best French Toast I’ve had each one was packed with so much flavor from the Blueberry, Strawberry, Caramel and Lemon. Also the butter that comes with was incredible too ngl almost like a cinnamon butter. Customer was cool no issues and the menu definitely had some options I wouldn’t mind come back to check with a big appetite thou. Overall 8.8.

my first and second time my truth were equally pleasurable. The food is amazing. The servers are overly accommodating and I love it for me and you if you choose to visit here in the video, you will see my jerk Alfredo omelette, which was delicious.

Pretty good service, I had the deconstructed omelette and the French toast, and mimosa flight. The omelet section could be expanded limited options. The venue space is a pretty tight squeeze for a party more than one. Great food would recommend.

It was a wonderful time, great customer service and the FOOD was fantastic! Peytyn and George did a phenomenal job! They were all very kind to our family and friends. Got us seated in a timely manner and the food came out great! My favorite was the pancakes && the lamb chops were top tier!!!

Went there 2/21/26. Good was decent, or server was cool. The problem was the menu price and the price they attempted to charge was different. Example menu says $21 the bill says $25. We were over charged almost $30 thank goodness we were paying attention. So check your bill and the prices.

I couldnt even get water smh. So me and my cousin decided to go to truth on vday sisnce we didnt have plans. We made a reservation for 7 pm. When we got there, it was about 10 people max inside. With 2 couples leaving out. We decided to sit at the bar. Again, it was almost empty in there and they were not busy. As we sat down we had already waited about 10 minutes before someone spoke to us. We asked the waitress for water. About 8 mins later, we were given menus. As we are looking ag the-menu, 10 more minutes have gone by and no one has asked what we would like, nor have we gotten the WATER! Then we sat atound and just waited to see would someone acknowledge us. The waitress is continuously walking past us and serving everyone else. I then ask for water for a 3rd time but it was no point. We were turned off and ready to go. For it to be a max of 12 people in there, its no way they couldn’t serve us. Maybe should hire some new people or retrain the ones that have been there. 0/10! Never will be back, and thats sad because i have-never had their food and that was my one time to try.
