We dined at 4p. Arrived 15mins early and found street parking right outside the restaurant. Valet is $27. Friendly and attentive staff and servers. Avi(our waiter) was excellent. They did have a gluten-free menu, an extensive wine menu, a pre fixe menu, and a regular menu that lit up (we thought was cool). We ordered crab cake, NY strip with veggies, claw cluster(cold dish on ice), Rockfish with creole sauce, shrimp, and crawfish(spicy), and dessert. Everything was great and good size portions. I got the Nutcracker rum punch which was ok. The bathrooms are upstairs (only negative) but they do have an elevator. Upstairs view is beautiful. Would probably dine up there next time we visit. We spent $450 including tip. About $380 for the meal. Would recommend for a celebration. Or as a gift to a seafood lover.

Outstanding Service experience from the moment of entry until departure. Upon arrival the host wished my daughter a Happy Birthday to the year (from her notes, no bday props-crowns, sash), the table was set with a birthday card for my daughter. Staff very engaged.
Food was just okay. We forced fed ourselves and asked for sauce for one of the entrees as it was not very good. Dessert was very good. Drinks were good w/ Mocktail options. We boxed and left w/ most of our food. Salmon barely touched, 10oz/16oz of the steak, half crab cake and small portion of mashed potatoes all to doctor up later. The ticket was nearly $300USD for 2 (mother/daughter-minor) not abnormal for great food. This was not great food. The cost forced me to at least box the meal to take.
The service, ambience, attentiveness, carried the entire experience! Top tier!! Outstanding even!! Our waiter was top tier, personable, attentive, made recommendations, live music was great, two different floor service managers checked in on us, although attentive each time I mentioned food was “just okay and my daughter didn’t like the salmon and requested a sauce” in hopes to complement the dish. Lightly acknowledged. Again, the restaurant did not disappoint with Service, Character and Overall experience at all. It served its purpose. Everyone who approached, acknowledged her birthday. It was beautiful. Food just doesn’t compliment the restaurant’s great elegance.

Service was good but the 3 stars from Food was warranted due to hard crab fried rice and it was warm temperature too! If you can carry out food that’s suppose to be hot with your bare hands and still serve it…there’s an issue!! At the price point that you charge for plenty of rice and a little bit of crab…that’s an easy fix!! That’s why 5 stars wasn’t there! The table setup and live music was great We’ll come back but no time soon.

Fine dining as it’s best. Great food, and excellent service!!! Staff was on point. Ambiance is great. Our group enjoyed the extra touches such as the menu lighting up when you open it to read it since it’s dim warm lighting in there. Oysters, snow crab, caesar salad, fish, mushrooms, cauliflower rice and the freshly made bread roll were delicious. Delicious Ohhhhh and the carrot cake was just Devine. Wow! The best ever carrot cake I have tasted. Music playing in background was lovely too. I have been to San Diego’s restaurant and the quality matches up with DC. Well done.

Visited for my son’s birthday. We were very excited for the Florida stone crab and they did not disappoint. We started with 4 large claws and oysters Rockefeller. Exceptional! The drinks, espresso martini and Old Forester old fashioned were perfect. This place is worth the money.

We visited Truluck’s last Saturday night and arrived right around 10:00 PM. When we walked in, Marcel, the assistant general manager, was standing at the front and explained that it was 10 PM and the restaurant was already closed, which we completely understood since we did not realize they close at that time.
What truly stood out was how Marcel handled the situation. Instead of simply turning us away, he said, “You know what, guys, how about this. You can grab a drink at the bar, and I’ll check with the kitchen to see if they would be able to make you an appetizer.” That gesture alone meant a lot.
The bartenders were excellent. They were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel comfortable even though we arrived right at closing time. The drinks were great, the fried calamari that Chris had been hoping for was absolutely delicious, and I truly loved my crab cake.
It was so kind and thoughtful of everyone involved to make this happen for us, from the kitchen staff to the bartenders and especially Marcel. What could have easily been a disappointing moment turned into a really enjoyable experience because of the level of care and customer service. This is how you run a business. Truluck’s is lucky to have a team like this.

We frequent this restaurant when we were DC locals, the atmosphere is great chandeliers, live music, huge establishment, great service and the food presentation and flavor never disappoint. Highly recommend, serves a variable menu to satisfy any palate. We usually sit at the bar if going with a group recommend to reserve a table.

TRULUCK DON’T OWE ME NOTHING!!… But another beautiful visit such as the one I had for my birthday!! They did an amazing job accommodating my reservation as well as my dinner! The aesthetics were amazing and they also allowed me to do my photoshoot here! I was greeted with a birthday card! They offer separate checks and they gave me an ice cream coffee kind of cake covered with marshmallow 8/10! I tried the calamari for my starter 10/10! Everything was so great even our server for the night he was very polite and helpful!

We mentioned it was our anniversary on OpenTable when we made the res. We were greeted at the door and congratulated by the host on our big day. We were led to our beautiful booth with a table covered in rose petals and a hand-written anniversary card, followed by complimentary prosecco from the manager. Our server Abi was especially attentive and warm. He answered all of our menu questions and even shared some history and traditions of the restaurant. Our food was gorgeous and delicious. Short wait times for each course. We were so impressed by the attentiveness of the staff. I spilled my water glass and they were quick to clean things up, assuring me not to worry. We were pampered the entire two hours! We ordered dessert and were also presented with a complimentary flaming baked Alaska with “Happy Anniversary” written in frosting. This restaurant did more to celebrate us than our own family did. The manager even followed us out the door to wish us well on our special night. We received a follow up phone call the next day to make sure we were satisfied. Prices were reasonable for the delicious meal we had. We were so impressed with every facet of this restaurant and if we lived in DC, it would be our favorite special place. Regardless — we will certainly be back every time we visit this city. There are 12 Truluck restaurants in the US. I would trust attending any one of them for a special evening. Thank you to all the staff that made our evening unforgettable. (We gave the atmosphere 4 stars instead of 5 because we were not fans of the music playlist in the restaurant. It did not fit at all with the decor or style of the place and was a bit annoying.)
