Unique and flavorful breakfast and lunch options. Locally roasted coffee from Yellowstone Coffee Roasting, and our amazing tea from the Lake Missoula Tea Company. Come try a baked pastry from the amazing and local Harvest Moon Bakery. We look forward to serving you!

We got the Bourbon Bacon Lettuce Avacado Tomato (BBLAT) and the Biscuits and Gravy. 10/10! So good, I wanted another right away! The chef is amazing and super friendly! Ugh, the bacon is just the best I’ve ever had from anywhere!
Update: Food so good. Staffs so friendly. We keep going back for more! Shout out to Fred their cook!

We absolutely loved our stop at Tru North Café! From the moment we walked in, the vibes were immaculate + welcoming. James, the owner, is genuinely warm and kind, and you can feel how much heart and intention went into creating this space.
The staff was friendly, the food was delicious + it truly felt like eating a home-cooked meal at a friend’s house. Cozy, comforting + thoughtful in all the right ways. The espresso deserves a special shoutout. It was so flavorful that my wife went back for a second cup!
We also really appreciated the variety of seating options, which made the space feel accessible and inviting for everyone. This place radiates care, community + good energy. If you’re in Livingston, Tru North is an absolute must!

I’m still not sure what was better, the food or the staff working. They were so nice even when faced with a super big rush. And the food was super good and very filling! I got the country scramble with toast and a small cinnamon roll and I left stuffed.

We had the best experience at this gorgeous cafe! Our favorites were the breakfast burrito, the pancake balls, and the Hucklebaby. The espresso coffee was also delicious. Everything was perfect, we will definitely visit again next time we are in town.

While on vacation in Montana we decided to take a break from the hotel breakfast and went to Tru North Cafe. They specialize in breakfast and lunch as well as gourmet coffee and drinks. The menu is not extensive in choices, but has enough options for everyone’s pick. They do not offer kids menu. They offer quite a selection of coffee, which I thought was really good. The food tasted like something that you can make at home. The portions were alright for us, but might be too small for anyone who likes hardy breakfast. For that same reason I gave them four stars because I thought the prices are a bit exaggerated for the portions served. The restaurant’s decor has that Wild West style, however the rooms were a little too cramped with objects on the wall and floor making it difficult to keep proper cleanliness. Service was pleasant and ordering of food was quick. They offer order and pick up service at the counter only. The restaurant isn’t big, only a few tables, but we had no problem getting a table. Parking in front of the restaurant on the street.

I wanted to like Tru North Cafe, but the experience was off-putting. The menu describes the breakfast burrito as being “the size of a small Mexican child,” which is just… weird and unnecessary on so many levels. I don’t want to think about consuming a child when ordering breakfast, and singling out “Mexican” makes it even more uncomfortable. It’s not clever, it’s just awkward and inappropriate.
On top of that, the prices feel wildly inflated for what you get. I paid $13 for a breakfast sandwich that was fine flavor-wise, but it was literally a bagel with sausage, egg, cheese, and sriracha. Nothing special, nothing elevated, and definitely not something that feels like it justifies that price point.
Overall, the food is okay, but the strange menu language and high prices really detract from the experience. There are plenty of places to get a solid breakfast without the cringe factor or sticker shock.

Visiting from Florida, Tru North Cafe is a perfectly balanced establishment- fun sassy personality (signage and menu) and charming politeness (Jack was the sweetest and so helpful), old and new decor, savory and sweet.
The espresso drinks were exceptional – you can taste the espresso!! A perfect balance of espresso with a hint of sweetness. We had an iced latte and their famous Cloud.
The food was delicious- we had the fluffy egg (it lives up to its name) and their charred meatloaf sandwich (get it Royale version)! We left with full and happy hearts and stomachs! Energized for the day ahead. Thank you Tru North Cafe and Livingston- we will be back again!

Tru North has a great menu. The food was amazing and the purple rain specialty drink hit the spot. The young man behind the counter took his time getting to hear our story of why we was there too. Very good experience here.

Very cute cafe. The “cloud” drink they’re known for is super tasty and not too sweet. The sriracha breakfast bagel is also very tasty. The atmosphere is nice, and I appreciated the touch of sass included in their menus.
For those looking for a cafe to work from, this might not be the best option (they don’t allow FaceTime/zoom calls) and there is a 1 hour limit during busy hours.
Overall, I highly recommend!
