I got the halal spiced chicken and rice and it was truly a 10/10! The chicken was well spiced, the rice was fluffy, and overall the ingredients tasted very fresh. Their sauces on this bowl were both delicious as well and, I didn’t see this option on the menu but, if there was any way I could get an extra container of their sauce on the side next time, I would!!

I have been getting my lunch from this amazing place. My go-to order is Cilantro Ranch spiced chicken and rice. The flavor is so deliciously good that it’s worth eating once a week. Plus, the chef is very friendly and has crafted a way to keep the consistency of the food on point.

Ordered the halal spiced chicken rice bowl. The chicken had some heat to it which was unexpected but good overall (tender & juicy too). My only gripe is the portion of the chicken. The bowl is like 30% salad, 20% chicken and 50% rice.

I’ve eaten here once or twice a week for the past year… I’m obsessed. Tru Foods has the best chicken and rice bowls in Boston, and so many amazing sandwiches and wraps as well. Plus, the owner Sam is amazing! Very welcoming, kind, and makes some killer food.

It’s something of a 4.5/5.
Their “Halal Chicken and Rice” with mint sauce is absolutely delicious. Their buffalo chicken wrap had an amazing buffalo chicken flavor.
Their rice is fluffy and flavorful. The lettuce is nice and crunchy and the chicken is tender and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the green sauce. It has a lot of flavor and goes well with the rest of the dish.
My only qualm with this is the amount of meat. I felt that it wasn’t enough. The ratio can be adjusted.
The place is decorated really nicely and the staff is friendly and welcoming. They treat you with respect and kindness. I will definitely be coming here a lot.

I’d recommend getting their halal spiced chicken & rice. The chicken was absolutely flavorful and juicy. Definitely one of the best chicken & rice dishes around Boston. The service was quick, and the chef Sam was friendly and courteous.

One of the reasons I like this neighborhood more since moving here is because I found my go-to place. I often pick up food by myself, but if my friends don’t know this place, I always make sure they order from here. It’s perfect for a picnic menu too. Sam is always kind and makes incredibly delicious food. All my friends who have tried True Food give it a thumbs up. I think it’s the best restaurant in Watertown! Such high quality at a reasonable price . Take care in the heat, and thank you always for the delicious food.
P.S- If the business hours were extended into the evening, my husband and I would probably come more often. My husband always wants to eat from here after he gets off work in the evening. Since it’s only open in the morning, we always have to keep the time in mind when ordering!

I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years & this little cafe blew me away! New to the area, I’ve been scouring the internet & surveying locals to find the best sandwich in town. Tru Foods easily tops the list. A filling, made-to-order wrap with REAL chicken, crisp veggies, and sauces made in house FOR $10.99!? Bless the folks who pointed me toward Tru Foods. Thank you for the chicken tikka wrap today – I’ll be back this weekend for a rice bowl!

Delicious hidden gem in Watertown. I got the chicken and rice and absolutely loved the flavors. The guy working there (maybe the owner?) was really kind, too. This is definitely going to become one of my go-to spots!
