I had a very disappointing experience at The Greene Turtle – 211 S Main St. My mother placed an order for two crab cake dinners and was told fries would come with the meals. Instead, we were given four crab cakes with no buns, no bread, no lettuce, no tomato, and no fries. It was completely incorrect.
When I went into the restaurant to have it fixed, it was not busy at all. A staff member initially tried to help me, but said he couldn’t because he wasn’t the general manager. When the general manager came out, he immediately had a rude and argumentative attitude. Instead of simply correcting the mistake, he repeatedly insisted that my mother ordered it that way and continued to argue with me.
I had already paid $65 and just wanted the correct order or a refund. Rather than resolving the issue professionally, he attempted to charge me more money. When I said I just wanted my refund, he told me that since he was the owner, I should “never show my face there again.” I was not yelling — I was simply an upset, hungry customer who had been waiting a long time.
The lack of professionalism and customer service was extremely disappointing. Mistakes happen, but the way this situation was handled was unacceptable. I will not be returning. Managers Name is Kenny by the way. Who told me he was the Owner.

Paid $33 for crab cakes, pickup inside, didn’t include our fries. When we asked for them, the employee who brought our order said she’d bring them out separately but instead got the manager. Manager declined to give fries with the order and said the crab cake duo doesn’t come with fries. We showed him the order on the website (where it absolutely comes with fries) and he said “for future reference it won’t come with a side” but he was gonna be “nice” and give us fries anyway. $33 for mid crab cakes and he brought us like 6 french fries out of spite. No wonder people don’t eat here anymore.

Came here with my frat boyfriend the other night for dinner and we had such a nice date night together here. I got a burger and he got the mozzarella sticks. We sat in a booth and we had a really nice time together. There was some nice music playing and the waitress was really kind and helpful. Will definitely return again soon!

Are there solo traveling in business. Tasty food and good service. I was surprised it wasn’t busier! Had the crab cakes that were great. Big lumps of crab! Also had some funnel cake fries for dessert. So yummy I wish I’d had room for more!

The food was good however I felt they are over priced especially the drinks, I didn’t like the drink and it was $12 . Also in the website they mentioned happy hour, saw reviews as well about happy hour prices and dishes in google but when we went there, the restaurant was empty and the reception said there is no happy hour. So if you are going for happy hour make sure to call and confirm whether they have it or not.

Smelled a bit weird inside. Ordered the crabby melt and got the tiniest bit of crab mixture. They gave me more when I asked for it. The service was a bit slow and had to remind them to give us a refill but that didn’t bother me too much. Overall I would not recommend

Great menu options at average prices. Thai pork tacos had just the right amount of spiciness heat with sweet BBQ flavor. Portions are large and fulfilling. Kids menu choice of hotdogs were 2 mini dog sliders which were great, added a twist on the same ol hotog option. The hog hammers.. meat falls of the bone, tender and tasty. The loaded tots.. a great indulgence. Service was friendly, and the place was clean. For a quick easy bite to eat that’s simple yet tasty, this is the place to be. Great draft selections at reasonable prices.

I’m a break local. I’ve been going to the green turtle at the beach and since arriving up north for years. The shrimp tacos are a major disappointment. You now get two tacos with 6 shrimp and fries for $15.99. The still come in a 3 taco holder… The manager says 2 tacos is the way it’s always been. Absolutely not so. Service was slow and not what it used to be. There are many better places to eat in Newark. They will no longer get my business. Disappointing

The experience was fine. In general the food was under-sauced and did not meet expectations. The cajun shrimp pasta was dry and barely had any sauce. The wings were crispy and hot but just barely had any seasoning or sauce on them. Our waitress was attentive and often very short and rude. We generally enjoy Greene turtle as a chain but this particular location doesn’t live up to the name.
